Obesity is a well-documented health risk in many nations and particularly in the United States. Pharmacological and surgical treatments are not shown to be universally available and have inherent risks.  Long-term lifestyle changes in diet and exercise are encouraged for initial weight-loss as well as maintaining weight loss thereafter. Marital status and well-being have been associated with marital challenges which intersect spousal health issues.  The purpose of this study was to further investigate the statistical relationship between ADHD, Obesity, and Marital Status and Quality. Despite the high prevalence of substance use disorder (SUD) and its frequent comorbidity with mental illness, individuals with SUD are less likely to receive effective SUD treatment from mental health practitioners than SUD counselors. Limited competence and interest in treating this clinical population are likely influenced by a lack of formal training in SUD treatment. BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Antipsychotic use is common in US nursing homes, despite evidence of increased risk of morbidity and mortality, and limited efficacy in older adults with dementia. Knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs regarding antipsychotic use among nursing home staff are unclear. The study aim was to describe nursing home leadership and direct care staff members' knowledge of antipsychotic risks, beliefs and attitudes about the effectiveness of antipsychotics and nonpharmacologic management of dementia-related behaviors, and perceived need for evidence-based training about antipsychotic medication safety.
