Comparative Evaluation Of Two Different Castable Bar Attachments In Implant Retained Mandibular Overdenture Cases, Fardos N. Rizk
Comparative Evaluation Of Two Different Castable Bar Attachments In Implant Retained Mandibular Overdenture Cases, Fardos N. Rizk
Dentistry
Objective: This research was carried to evaluate which solitary attachment; OT Cap Ball attachment or OT Cap Equator Profile attachment mounted on a bar splinting two implants retaining mandibular overdenture is more favorable regarding crestal bone height and bone density changes surrounding the implants using cone beam computed tomography. Materials and Methods: Following two stage surgical protocol twelve completely edentulous patients received two implants placed bilaterally in the canine region (24 implants) to retain mandibular overdenture. Four months following the surgery patients were randomly divided into two equal groups; Group-I received two OT Cap Ball attachments mounted on a bar …
Radiographic Evaluation Of Marginal Bone Levels Around Platform-Switched Implants And Non-Platform-Switched Implants Immediately Loaded To Support Mandibular Overdenture, Fardos N. Rizk, Eatmad Elrekaby
Radiographic Evaluation Of Marginal Bone Levels Around Platform-Switched Implants And Non-Platform-Switched Implants Immediately Loaded To Support Mandibular Overdenture, Fardos N. Rizk, Eatmad Elrekaby
Dentistry
Objective: This clinical study was conducted to assess the marginal bone level around two different types of implant abutment junctions which are the platform-switched connection and non-platform- switched connection used in cases of implants supporting mandibular overdentures following the immediate loading protocol. Materials and Methods: Twelve completely edentulous male patients were randomly divided into two equal groups: Group I: Each patient received two Legacy I Implants designed with internal bevel having 3.5mm implant platform diameter to which 3.5mm neck diameter healing collars were threaded creating a matching or non-platform switching mechanism at the implant abutment junction. Group II: Each patient …
Evaluation Of Accuracy Of Impression Materials With Different Mixing Techniques, James Ywom
Evaluation Of Accuracy Of Impression Materials With Different Mixing Techniques, James Ywom
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
Purpose: To investigate gypsum compatibility and dimensional stability of irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials with three mixing techniques. A comparison between vacuum-mixed, mechanically-mixed and manually-mixed techniques was evaluated for each impression material. Materials and Methods: Three irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials Kromopan 100® (Lascod™), Identic® (Dux dental™), and Jeltrate Plus® (Dentsply™) were tested gypsum compatibility in accordance with ANSI/ADA Specification No. 18 for alginate impression materials. The test for linear dimensional stability was tested in accordance with ANSI/ADA Specification No. 19 for elastomeric impression materials. A One-way ANOVA test was used to analyze dimensional stability at a significance level of (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The vacuum mixing technique facilitates the mixing of irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials and improves the compatibility with gypsum material and reproduces a more dimensionally accurate cast than the other mixing techniques.
Premaxillary Characteristics In Complete Bilateral Cleft Lip And Palate: A Predictor For Treatment Outcome, Noha Ibrahim Abdelrahman Professor, Islam Tarek Hassan Professor
Premaxillary Characteristics In Complete Bilateral Cleft Lip And Palate: A Predictor For Treatment Outcome, Noha Ibrahim Abdelrahman Professor, Islam Tarek Hassan Professor
Dentistry
Objectives:
The aim of the current study was to investigate how bilateral cleft lip and palate (BCLP) cases responded differently to presurgical orthopedics (PSO) and primary lip repair (LR) based on premaxillary characteristics. We suggest a clinically oriented descriptive classification for BCLP based on premaxillary characteristics.
Design and Setting:
A retrospective longitudinal comparative study where available records of all non-syndromic patients with complete BCLP attending the Cleft Clinic, affiliated to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department, Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt were assessed.
Sample Population and Methodology:
Twenty-two cases were collected over a 4-years period from 2008 to 2011 (15 boys …
