Alginate Dressings- Revisiting The Past, Oshine Jha, Oshine Jha
Alginate Dressings- Revisiting The Past, Oshine Jha, Oshine Jha
Annual Research Symposium
Wound healing in simple terms is the healing of skin which involves various mechanisms. It is not dressings themselves that heal wounds, but the careful selection of appropriate dressings that provide the optimal wound-healing environment for the individual wound. Wound dressings are prepared from biopolymers, synthetic polymers and biomaterials.
Clinical, Radiographic And Biochemical Evaluation Of One-Piece Vs Two-Piece Single Implants After 5 Years Of Functional Loading, Ippolito Caputo
Clinical, Radiographic And Biochemical Evaluation Of One-Piece Vs Two-Piece Single Implants After 5 Years Of Functional Loading, Ippolito Caputo
Annual Research Symposium
The aim of this study was to compare the clinical and radiographic conditions and the expression of proinflammatory cytokines in peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) of two-piece/bone level (TP/BL) versus one-piece/tissue level (OP/TL) single implants with a laser-microgrooved collar after at least 5 years of functional loading.
Influence Of Intraradicular Restoration Technique On The Biomechanical Behavior Of Upper Canines, Ana Paula Gomes
Influence Of Intraradicular Restoration Technique On The Biomechanical Behavior Of Upper Canines, Ana Paula Gomes
Annual Research Symposium
This study assessed the stress distribution in endodontically treated upper canines subjected to the cementation of two types of intraradicular retainers.
Influence Of Abutments Surface (Machined Vs. Laser-Microgrooved) In Soft-Tissue Response During One Year Of Function: Clinical And Biochemical Outcomes Of A Rct With Split-Mouth Design, Elisa Maccari
Annual Research Symposium
To evaluate peri-implant soft tissue behaviour around machined vs laser-microgrooved implants/healing/prosthetic abutments during 1 year of function by assessing IL-6, IL-1b and MMP-8 levels in peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF).
Silver Nano Particle Or Sodium Hypochlorite A Better Denture Cleanser, Dr.Tessa Kuriachan, Dr.Rahul Senan, Dr. Parvathy B, Dr. Keerthi Pt
Silver Nano Particle Or Sodium Hypochlorite A Better Denture Cleanser, Dr.Tessa Kuriachan, Dr.Rahul Senan, Dr. Parvathy B, Dr. Keerthi Pt
Annual Research Symposium
Denture hygiene is compromised both due to the limitations of the denture base material as well as the lack of manual dexterity of denture wearers. Moreover, the rough tissue surface of the dentures affect the initial formation of candidal biofilms probably because it provides a greater surface area and protected sites for colonization. Among the various methods available to disinfect dentures, chemical method using Sodium hypochlorite seems to be the most effective one. Even though sodium hypochlorite is an effective denture cleanser,it has many disadvantages like the increased roughness of the denture surface and decreased colour stability. So a better …
Dentofacial Effects Of Radiotherapy On Pediatric Population With Retinoblastoma, Kristi Truong
Dentofacial Effects Of Radiotherapy On Pediatric Population With Retinoblastoma, Kristi Truong
Annual Research Symposium
This literature review investigates the dentofacial consequences of radiotherapy in young patients with retinoblastoma by referencing current research. In addition, the management and rehabilitation of the dentofacial abnormalities, highlighting orthodontic, surgical, and prosthetic approaches, is examined. By understanding the changes of dentofacial development due to retinoblastoma treatment, effective management techniques can be implemented to resolve significant issues, relating to dental and skeletal relationship and facial appearance.

Managing Patient Expectations With Implant Treatment, Daniel B. Kamran, Mark Booth Dds, Eduardo Gonzalez Dds, Ed Shaw Dds
Excellence Day
This patient came to University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry to get implants and implant crowns to improve his smile, replacing his upper partial denture. Different approaches were made by the faculty to arrive at best outcomes, which took four years for the patient to receive the treatment he wanted. This abstract will further detail how the treatment was conducted and the results afterwards.
Root Analogue Implant Creation: Establishing Procedures For The General Dentist, Alicia Hazdovac, Sarah Osborne, Gary D. Richards
Root Analogue Implant Creation: Establishing Procedures For The General Dentist, Alicia Hazdovac, Sarah Osborne, Gary D. Richards
Excellence Day
The possibility of replacing damaged teeth with custom-made root analogue implants was initially suggested around 1969 and reintroduced by Lungren et al. in 1992. The latter authors created custom implants in titanium and reported good osteointegration and aesthetic results. Following this effort there has been an increasing focus on custom root analogue implants as a replacement for ‘screw-type’ implants. Given the availability of software to manipulate 3D image data and the rapid rise of 3D printing technology, the question arises as to whether a general dentist can produce their own implants. Here we test the feasibility of practitioners producing custom …
