Oral focal mucinosis is a rare lesion with less than 60 cases reported in English literature so far, to the best of our knowledge. It is considered to be the oral counterpart of cutaneous focal mucinosis and/or cutaneous myxoid cyst. Histopathologically, Oral focal mucinosis is demonsterates a well-circumscribed area of myxomatous connective tissue containing mucinous material, surrounded by denser collagenous connective tissue. We present a case of Oral focal mucinosis occurring on the buccal gingiva of the lower jaw.

Background: Maxillary sinus lifting is a complex procedure with reported complications in the literature where the presence of sinus septa further complicates the procedure, they including membrane perforation, bleeding. Aim: The aim of this study is to decrease the incidence of membrane perforation which is the most common reported complication, and to determine whether the use of surgical guides could decrease the incidence of membrane perforation. Materials and methods: A total of 12 cases where blindly divided into 2 groups; Group (A) computer guided maxillary sinus lifting and Group (B) conventional sinus lifting, both groups received allogenic bone blocks for …

Meyer’s proposed chew-in technique also called functionally generated path (FGP) technique, is indicated for the restoration of an edentulous arch that is opposed by natural teeth as it does seem to provide the most accurate method of recording occlusal patterns, also help to minimize the effects of negative factors, and to overcome the deficiencies of articulators [1]. As stated by Rudd and Morrow, this technique is especially suitable for tooth-supported complete dentures, due to inherent stability of tooth-supported record bases helps in recording jaw relationships accurately.

Whenever a single complete denture is opposed by natural dentition, problems observed are abrasion …

Abstract:

This study tested the effect of different etching methods on the bond strength of a universal adhesive system to caries-affected (CAD)and sound dentin. Methods: forty premolars were wet grinded to expose flat occlusal midcoronal dentin. Specimens were equally divided according to the substrate; sound and (CAD) by exposing to pH-cycling for 14 days. Each dentin substrate was bonded with Single BondTM universal adhesive applied either after no etching or etching of dentin, then resin composite was built up. Specimens were tested for shear bond strength (SBS). The data was analyzed by two-ways ANOVA. Results: Single BondTM universal …
