Clarifying multifactorial musculoskeletal disorder etiologies supports risk analysis and development of targeted prevention and treatment modalities. Deep learning enables comprehensive risk factor identification through systematic analysis of disease datasets but does not provide sufficient context for mechanistic understanding, limiting clinical applicability for etiological investigations. Conversely, multiscale biomechanical modeling can evaluate mechanistic etiology within the relevant biomechanical and physiological context. Dynamic surgical guidance (DSG) is a recent advance in implant dentistry, used in an effort to maximize the efficiency and predictability of implant surgeries. A study, conducted by Navigate Surgical Technologies using the Inliant system, was undertaken in Toronto, Canada to analyze the success and accuracy of this technology. Twenty-three implants placed in twenty-two subjects were examined. The results showed that implant placement using Inliant was extremely accurate when compared to the pre-surgical plan. PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES: Research is an integral part of oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) residency training. This study aimed to identify the current barriers perceived by OMS residents toward conducting research during training.

METHODS: A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study was conducted. The survey was distributed to 670 OMS residents across the United States in 2021 and consisted of questions regarding demographics, residency program requirements and resources, and perceived barriers to research. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Fisher's exact tests, Kruskal-Wallis tests, and post hoc Dunn's test with a statistical significance of P < 0.05.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to assess the newly formed bone and the remnant biomaterial by comparing four different bone grafts used to treat critical-size defects, associated or not with the non-resorbable membrane.

Materials and methods: Two calvaria critical-size bone defects were created in 50 male Wistar rats. They were divided into blood (G1), autogenous (G2), bioglass (G3), hydroxyapatite (G4), and xenograft (G5) groups, associated or not with e-PTFE. The experimental periods were 15 and 45 days. Oral focal mucinosis is a rare lesion with less than 60 cases reported in English literature so far, to the best of our knowledge. It is considered to be the oral counterpart of cutaneous focal mucinosis and/or cutaneous myxoid cyst. Search methods: Search was performed in two databases (PubMed and Cochrane Library) till March 2023. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and subsequently pursued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Howard University in 1951 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the same institution in 1955. Conventional assessment methods, which primarily rely on two-dimensional cephalometric norms, are limited by projection errors and a reduced capacity to accurately evaluate soft tissue contours.
