Objective: Stainless steel crowns (SSCs) are preformed metal crowns used to restore severely decayed primary teeth. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of pH changes and SSC margin trimming on nickel release in artificial saliva solution. Methods: A total of 90 SSCs were divided into three groups and placed in 35 ml of artificial saliva of pH 6.8, 5, and 3.5. Craniofacial development is regulated through dynamic and complex mechanisms that involve various signaling cascades and gene regulations. Disruption of such regulations can result in craniofacial birth defects. Here, we propose the first developmental stage-specific network approach by integrating two crucial regulators, transcription factors (TFs) and microRNAs (miRNAs), to study their co-regulation during craniofacial development. Specifically, we used TFs, miRNAs and non-TF genes to form feed-forward loops (FFLs) using genomic data covering mouse embryonic days E10.5 to E14.5. The purpose of this study is to characterize the inflammatory cytokines that are expressed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and THP-1 monocytes exposed to Invisalign^® aligner material in vitro. Invisalign^® material was ground into particles, soaked in artificial saliva, and the eluate was collected. The purpose of this study was to ascertain if repeated stresses from extension cycling would result in accumulated damage in aligner materials and affect force delivery. A secondary goal was to identify potential differences in mechanical behavior present among orthodontic aligner polymers. Four thermoplastic polymers (Essix ACE, Taglus, Zendura, and Zendura FLX) were thermoformed, cut into strips, and extension cycled to 0.4 millimeters in a 37C water bath. After our inclusion/exclusion criteria, records of 24 patients receiving secondary alveolar grafts at the University of Nebraska Medical Center were evaluated. An adult woman suffered moderate complications of cranio-facial microsomia (CFM) with different severity on both sides of the face. This anomaly leads to short ramal height, condylar pathology, chin deviation and facial asymmetry. The malformed dental arch, open bite and severe canting of the occlusal plane were the reasons for the patient to request the therapy. Orthodontic treatment was performed with pre-adjusted edgewise system assisted by temporal anchorage devices (TADs). These modalities were executed through leveling of the occlusal plane. The improvement was noticed for both better oral function and esthetics.
