Objective: The presence of good healthy behaviors among university students is imperative for their future life. This study aimed to compare positive health behaviors and state of happiness between the two genders of Bahria University (BU), Karachi, Pakistan.
Subjects and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at BU, Karachi, Pakistan. A total 813 students participated in this study. The healthquestionnaire, adapted from Health and Behavior Survey and the Subjective Happiness Scale, was used to assess self-reported happiness. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 22.

Objectives: To evaluate the root canal morphology of maxillary premolars.

Method: This retrospective study was conducted from November 2016 to January 2017 at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, and reviewed Cone Beam Computed Tomography images of maxillary first and second premolars done from November 2014 to October 2016. Frequency distribution of Vertucci's classification was determined. Chi square test was applied to determine any association between Vertucci's type and gender. SPSS 19 was used for data analysis.

The aim of this review was to analyze the potential of successful bonds of endodontic posts to radicular dentin as well as the limitations of the post–endodontic adhesive interface.

Methods

The MEDLINE/PubMed and Web of Science electronic databases were searched. The search was augmented by a manual search of the pertinent bibliographies.

Results

The post–endodontic adhesive interface finds application in the endodontic cohesive units. A 70-year-old male presented with a slow growing, dome shaped and painless mass of the hard palate. The mass was excised. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of a angioleiomyoma (vascular leiomyoma). A leiomyoma is an uncommon benign tumor of smooth muscle differentiation. True leiomyomas of the oral cavity are rare and most oral tumors are derived from the smooth muscle of walls of blood vessels. Therefore, they are called vascular leiomyomas or angioleiomyomas. Objectives: To determine the concentration of calcium, iron, manganese and zinc ions after the application of chelator to Enterococcus faecalis biofilms.

Material and Methods: Fifty bovine maxillary central incisors were prepared and inoculated with E. faecalis for 60 days. The following were used as irrigation solutions: 17% EDTA (pH 3, 7 and 10), 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) combined with 17% EDTA (pH 3, 7 and 10), distilled water (pH 3, 7 and 10), and 2.5% NaOCl. The clinical efficacy regarding bleaching sensitivity and tooth shade lightening using a standard hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) bleaching gel was compared with the additional use of ozone either before or after application of H2O2. Using computer-generated tables, 45 participants were randomly allocated into three groups (n = 15 each) in this investigator-driven, single-centre trial. A systematic characterization of hybrid scaffolds, fabricated based on combinatorial additive manufacturing technique and freeze-drying method, is presented as a new platform for osteoblastic differentiation of dental pulp cells (DPCs).

Methods

The scaffolds were consisted of a collagenous matrix embedded in a 3D-printed beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) as the mineral phase. The developed construct design was intended to achieve mechanical robustness owing to 3D-printed β-TCP scaffold, and biologically active 3D cell culture matrix pertaining to the Collagen extracellular matrix. Cleidocranial dysplasia is an extremely rare familial disorder characterized by partial or complete absence of clavicles, characteristic craniofacial deformities, and the presence of numerous supernumerary and unerupted teeth. Here, the author reviews the striking radiographic findings of cleidocranial dysplasia in a 16-year-old adolescent boy who presented with delayed teeth eruption.

Objective:To determine the association between environmental tobacco smoke and dental caries.
Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted in peri-urban and urban areas of Karachi, from February to August 2014, and comprised children aged 5-14 years. A pre-coded questionnaire for environmental tobacco smoke and food frequency questionnaire for dietary habits were used. Dental examination of children was done to detect caries. Cox-proportional hazard algorithm was used to measure the association of environmental tobacco smoke with dental caries at multivariable level. STATA version 12.0 was used for statistical analysis.

This case report describes an unusually large facial pilomatrix carcinoma (PC) in a 60-year-old man. This PC had been growing slowly for 11 months and had recently ulcerated. It measured 9 cm × 7 cm × 5 cm. Initial punch biopsy findings were inconclusive. The tumor was excised in total with 5-mm margins in a supra-superficial musculoaponeurotic system plane. The defect was reconstructed with a cervicofacial bilobed rotational advancement flap. Histopathologic findings confirmed the diagnosis of PC. There was no lymph node spread or distant metastasis. Introduction

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of delayed placement of the core/post and crown on the outcomes of nonsurgical root canal therapy (NSRCT).

Methods

According to the Delta Dental of Wisconsin claims database, 160,040 NSRCTs were completed with a core/post and a crown placed before the end of the continuous coverage period or occurrence of an untoward event. Untoward events were defined as a retreatment, apicoectomy, or extraction as defined by the Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature. Statistical analysis was performed by using a multivariable Cox proportional hazards model.

The objective of this study is to examine hospitalization outcomes after orthognathic surgery. This study tests the hypothesis that patients with craniofacial anomalies have higher billed hospital charges, longer lengths of stay, and increased odds of development of infectious complications when compared with patients without craniofacial anomalies.

In managing loose abutment screws, locating precisely the position of the screw access channel is difficult. This technique describes the use of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and surgical guide planning software to locate the screw access channel with the intention of retrieving a loosened cement-retained implant-supported prosthesis. The method minimizes damage to the abutment crown assembly.

A 7-year 10-month-old boy with skeletal Class III malocclusion was treated in two phases. In phase one, rapid maxillary expansion (RME) and facemask was applied for early intervention in a cervical vertebral maturation (CVM) stage of CS2. After RME and facemask treatment, decompensation of maxillary and mandibular incisors was noted, as well as an improved skeletal Class III jaw relationship with reduction of the A point-nasion-B point (ANB) angle. Cerebral palsy (CP) is a common developmental neurological disorder affecting about 2-3 children out of 1,000. CP is the result of infant brain damage or abnormal development resulting in impaired muscle control, coordination, tone, reflex, posture, and balance. These patients are unable to control motor movements of their muscles of mastication and facial expression, causing excessive drooling, clenching, bruxism, and other oral health-related issues.
