Objective To study the effect of chlorhexidine (CHX) as a vehicle for sodium perborate (SP) on microleakage of resin composite by using glucose filtration. Materials and methods Thirty six single-rooted teeth were used. The specimens with cavity were prepared and divided into three groups: Group 1, SP mixed with 2% CHX; Group 2, SP mixed with distilled water; Group 3, SP mixed with 30% hydrogen peroxide. With a total conduction of three times, bleaching agent was applied in the cavities for 1 week and rinsed. The cavities were then filled with resin composite. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare two anchorage modalities. Differential mass and differential moments were compared for their anchorage effectiveness in the sagittal and vertical dimensions. Class I patients with maximum anchorage requirements and treated with four first premolar extractions were selected. Objective: This study evaluated the release of fluoride from orthodontic band adhesives before and after exposure to fluoride varnish (FV), MI Paste (MIP), MI Paste Plus (MIPP), or no application, in neutral and acidic solutions. Background: White spot lesions (WSLs) occur in 73% of orthodontic patients. WSLs occur as a result of plaque accumulation, which leads to increased acidity of the oral cavity and subsequent enamel demineralization. Topical fluoride is frequently used as therapy for WSLs, in the form of toothpaste, mouth-rinse and varnish. The recent publication of an article that is listed as a Critical Issue in the Journal of Dental Hygiene deserves strong letters of endorsement from nursing professionals. It has been twelve years since the Institute of Medicine called for interprofessional education to be adopted by the health professional education community. The increasing numbers of dentists in dental programs and the decreasing numbers of physicians in medical programs lend itself for dentists and physicians to be supportive of such interprofessional collaborations.

Objective. This study was conducted to test the impact of exposure to artificial gastric acid combined with toothbrush abrasion on the properties of dental ceramics. Earlier research has indicated that immersion in artificial gastric acid increased surface roughness of dental ceramics. However, the combined effect of acid immersion and toothbrush abrasion and the impact of increased surface roughness on mechanical strength and optical properties has not been studied. Methods. Three commercially available ceramics were chosen for this study: feldspathic porcelain, lithium disilicate glass ceramic, monolithic zirconium oxide. Untreated cavities can have far-reaching negative consequences for people's ability to eat, speak, and learn. By adolescence, 27 percent of low-income children in the United States will have untreated cavities. School-based sealant programs typically provide dental sealants (a protective coating that adheres to the surface of molars) at little or no cost to students attending schools in areas with low socioeconomic status. These programs have been shown to increase the number of students receiving sealants and to prevent cavities.
