For decades, cannabis consumption has remained one of the most controversial topics of discussion in both science and law. However, Cannabis sativa, from which both hemp and marijuana are derived, has served as an essential component of medicine, industry, and recreation for centuries. Approximately 500 compounds have been identified from cannabis alone, and only around 66 are termed cannabinoids which account for the majority of research on the substance. The major cannabinoid constituents include delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta 9-THC), responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis, in addition to, cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannbinolic acid (THCA), cannbidolic acid (CBDA), cannbigerol (CBG), …
