The following is the introduction of this article: Vitamin D is the only vitamin that is free. It can be easily obtained from exposure to sunlight and yet more than 60% of Americans are Vitamin D deficient (Ginde et al., 2009; Bones, Vitamin D, and Calcium, n.d). The significance of Vitamin D can’t be emphasized enough and is often overlooked. Some its profound effects are apparent in the prevention of various diseases such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, and cardiovascular disease et cetera.
