Purpose and Rationale. Central nervous system manifestations form a significant burden of disease in young children. There have been efforts to correlate the neurological disease state in tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) neurological disease state with imaging findings is a standard part of patient care. However, such analysis of neuroimaging is time- and labor-intensive. Automated approaches to these tasks are needed to improve speed, accuracy, and availability. Automated medical image analysis tools based on 3D/2D deep learning algorithms can help improve the quality and consistency of image diagnosis and interpretation for cognitive disorders in infants. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease consisting of inflammation, demyelination and loss of axon integrity in the central nervous system. Like many autoimmune diseases, its severity, initial presentation and symptomatology vary. MS is typically onset in young adults between twenty to forty years old, and has been found two-three times more likely in women than in men. As a chronic illness, like many others, it can present in the emergency department as an undifferentiated neurologic complaint. Osteomyelitis is an increasingly common pathology that often poses a diagnostic challenge to clinicians. Accurate and timely diagnosis is critical to preventing complications that can result in the loss of life or limb. In addition to history, physical exam, and laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging plays an essential role in the diagnostic process. This narrative review article discusses various imaging modalities employed to diagnose osteomyelitis: plain films, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, bone scintigraphy, and positron emission tomography (PET). Previous research suggests that estrogen exhibits a protective effect on skeletal muscle and may help curb the effects of induced damage. Eccentric (ECC) exercise has been shown to provide the greatest levels of exercise induced muscle damage (EIMD) and with indirect markers of muscle damage including decreases in strength, increased inflammation, and higher magnitudes of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Studies have shown that elevations of the T2 relaxation times of activated muscles coincide with these other indirect measures of muscle damage. The annual incidence of spinal cord injury (SCI), not including those who die at the scene of the accident, is approximately 10,000 new cases in the United States. SCI, in its best outcome, may partially and temporarily disconnect the spinal cord from the brain. Some neuronal pathways remain intact in most S CI individuals, whose recovery depends on the utilization of the surviving connections. There is a change in the control of voluntary movements of the extremities by the cerebral cortex of the brain following spinal cord injury.
