Patients with anemia and other conditions resulting in loss of blood often come with orders to return wasted blood to them. While using typical blood draw practices, patients are placed at an increased risk of infection when their blood is exposed to the outside world. My question is, will using a closed system decrease the instances of infection in patients who receive their waste blood after draws? By utilizing a waste syringe attached to the IV line, nurses can avoid detaching and reattaching syringes to collect and give back the patient's blood. Electronic health records (EHR) and computer-based documentation is a powerful tool which has been adopted extensively in the last twenty years. The effect of EHR integration on staff has not been well studied, especially among nurses.

The purpose is to investigate how optimization of nursing documentation effects the burden of documentation on nurses.

This project evaluated the admission history documentation at a community hospital that used essential data sets (EDS) to optimize the documentation process for nursing. Objective: To determine the relationship between expectations and satisfaction regarding technical knowledge - empathic attitude in the clinical practices of nursing students at the Grau de EsSalud Emergency Hospital in 2019. Methods: A study with a quantitative approach, observational type, and correlational design showed 80 nursing students who carried out their clinical practices at the Hospital de Emergencias Grau participated in 2019. About half of the geriatric population who take at least one medication find medication adherence challenging. Average adherence of an elderly patient taking one medication a day is about 80%. This adherence decreases to about 50% for patients taking medications four times a day. Nonadherence can lead to a myriad of preventable adverse effects that can reduce the quality of life and even result in death. Patient’s with a diagnosis of diabetes require significant lifestyle modification and education. The need for patient education has led to the development of diabetes self-management education (DSME) classes. Unfortunately, utilization of DSME classes is only 5% among Medicare beneficiaries and 6.8% among privately insured patients (Centers for Disease Control [CDC], 2018). A focus on critique as a form of theory within critical management studies (CMS) and critical information systems research (CISR) leads to concerns about the impact of critique on the transformation of practice and about the active role of practitioners. The emphasis on theory also prevents insight into the heterogeneous nature of critical practices. This paper develops a posthumanist approach to critique.
