Background: In the highly competitive landscape of healthcare, nurturing strong relationships between referring healthcare providers and healthcare facilities is essential for maintaining patient loyalty. This study explores the factors influencing referring health care provider engagement and its subsequent impact on the willingness to rerefer to healthcare facilities.

Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative survey was conducted with 181 healthcare providers who regularly refer patients to a private hospital in Jakarta. Background: Unintended pregnancy is a global health problem. The number of unintended pregnancies globally is still high, accounting for 1 in 4 pregnancies. In Indonesia, it occupies 15% of total pregnancies. However, studies discussing the determinants of unintended pregnancies in Indonesia were conducted on a small scale.

Methods: This cross-sectional research utilized the data of 15,316 respondents of the 2017 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey.

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacts many aspects of life, including health, economy, society, education, and mental well-being. The pandemic impact on mental health, in particular, leads to increased rates of depression, anxiety, and stress. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of depression among Islamic boarding school students in Indonesia and identify factors associated with depression symptoms. This cross-sectional study employed questionnaires for data collection. Assessment of depression levels used the DASS-21 tool. Descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regression were applied to analyze relationships between variables. Background: Asthma is a multifactorial disease that encompasses a multitude of genetic and environmental factors. One such factor is the disintegrin and metalloprotein-33 (ADAM33) gene, which is correlated with asthma and bronchial hyperresponsiveness. Previous studies conducted on Asian populations have reported a significant association between rs2787094 polymorphism in the ADAM33 gene and asthma.

Methods: Our study involved 153 Indonesian participants. TaqMan genotyping assay was used to analyze rs2787094 polymorphism in the ADAM33 gene.

Introduction. Doctors have greater risk of acquiring COVID-19 due to occupational exposure. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an essential factor in reducing COVID-19 transmission. We aimed to evaluate the behavior changes of PPE usage among doctors in Indonesia before and after getting COVID-19 infection in early pandemic.

Methods. This was a descriptive online survey with cross-sectional design. This survey was conducted from October-December 2020 among Indonesian doctors who were COVID-19 survivors.

Background: This study aimed to examine what reasons motivated urban high school students to choose certain foods, and to identify factors associated with food choice motivations.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from April to May 2020 in Depok, Indonesia. A total of 433 high school students in grades 10–12 were recruited. Food choice motivations were identified using a questionnaire, and defined using exploratory factor analysis. Obesity and asthma are both global public health challenges. Mounting evidence suggests that obesity may increase asthma risk in adults; however, the association by sex remains uncertain. This study examined the association of obesity with asthma risk in Indonesian adult men and women. Data were obtained from the 2018 Indonesia Basic Health Research. The analysis included 299,837 men and 333,218 women aged ≥18 years. Asthma was identified by the self-report of a doctor’s diagnosis. Obesity was defined as a body mass index ≥30 kg/m2. Political affiliation has been reported as a determinant of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in some countries, although few studies have examined the Asian context. This study aims to fill this gap by employing an ecological study design using Indonesian regions as data points. Background: To explore the situation of national health insurance coverage among informal workers and to identify the enrollment strategy for such workers.

Method: This is a qualitative research with a case study approach. Participants are eight palm sugar farmers and fifteen major and minor stakeholders of national health insurance in the district of Banyumas, Indonesia. This study includes semi-structured informant interview and open-ended questions. A thematic framework analysis is applied to guide the interpretation of the data. Factors Influencing Sexuality, Gender And Norms Of Adolescent: A Cross-Sectional Study Among Adolescent In Indonesia, Tantut Susanto, Tirta Amerta Isworo, Dewi Rokhmah

Background: The current study explored the factors related to the sexuality, gender, and norms among Indonesian adolescents via structural equation modelling.

Method: A cross-sectional design was performed among 394 adolescents from August to October 2020 in East Java of Indonesia. A self-administered questionnaire measured factors that influenced sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescents. We used smart PLS (Partial Least Squares) to analyze the data.

Results: Two correlations emerge among independent variables, namely sociodemographic of adolescent and knowledge of reproductive health (RH) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) (p< 0.001) and sociodemographic of parents and family structure and function of RH (p< 0.001). Sociodemographic of parents (p= 0.003), knowledge of RH and HIV (p= 0.012), and family structure and function of RH (p= 0.006) were directly related to sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescent. Sociodemographic of adolescents (p= 0.031) and parents (p= 0.024) were indirectly related to the sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescent through knowledge of RH and HIV. Our model explains 39.9% of the variance in sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescents.

Background: Pharmacists have been at the frontline of the COVID-19 response in Indonesia, providing medicines, advice, and referral services often in areas with limited healthcare access. This study aimed to explore their knowledge, attitudes, and practices during the pandemic, so that we can be better prepared for future emergencies.
Methods: A cross-sectional online survey of community pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in Indonesia was conducted between July and August 2020. The dataset was analysed descriptively, and logistic regression was used to explore willingness to participate in COVID-19 interventions.

In mid-2021, the Delta strain of the Covid-19 virus caused a second wave of transmissions and deaths in Indonesia at a scale much greater than what was seen in 2020. In this paper, I examine what the Indonesian government’s handling of the Covid crisis in 2021 reveals about the priorities of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as well as his political agenda and attitude towards the country’s democracy, as he strives to cement his legacy. Background: Inappropriate dispensing of antibiotics at community pharmacies is an important driver of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
