Online adaptive radiotherapy optimizes a patient's treatment plan to their daily anatomy to account for inter-fraction motion. Daily target and organ-at-risk (OAR) delineation allows for optimized treatments and has been shown to have favorable outcomes in the abdominal region. Adaptive radiotherapy also has the potential to support fine control of dose in re-irradiation to OARs. Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is increasingly being prescribed for treating patients with multiple metastases, especially in the setting of oligometastatic disease. Treating multiple targets presents unique challenges in radiotherapy planning and delivery, including practical considerations relating to treatment time, resource allocation, and treatment planning complexity. Treating targets in a common isocenter reduces the time required for treatment and simplifies planning, but historically, it has often not been feasible due to inter- and intra-fractional variation in relative target positions. With online adaptation, individual targets can be re-contoured on each treatment fraction to obviate inter-fractional variation, and with appropriate margin selection intra-fractional …

PTase is the key enzyme of the mannose 6-phosphate (M6P) targeting system that is responsible for tagging lysosomal hydrolases with the M6P moiety for their delivery to the lysosome. Perlecan-mediated osmotic mechanotransduction serves to regulate the metabolic activity of cells in tissues subjected to tension, compression, or shear. BACKGROUND: Long-acting cabotegravir (CAB-LA) is highly effective for HIV prevention, but delayed HIV diagnoses and integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI) resistance were observed in trials. We report the first case in routine clinical care of HIV infection on CAB-LA with INSTI resistance.

METHODS: The SeroPrEP study enrolls individuals in the United States who acquire HIV on pre-exposure prophylaxis modalities to assess diagnostics, antiretroviral (ARV) drug levels, resistance, and treatment outcomes. Resistance mutations in full-length HIV-1 integrase were identified by single-genome sequencing (SGS). BACKGROUND: The incidence of infective endocarditis (IE) is rapidly increasing. Contemporary outcomes following high-risk double valve surgery (DVS) for IE are not well described.

METHODS: Between 2001 and 2021, 211 patients with IE underwent combined aortic and mitral valve surgery at a tertiary care referral center. Data from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons registry, including demographics, operative details, and outcomes, were collected. Risk factors for 30-day and 1-year-mortality were analyzed. METHODS: A published literature search was performed for the concepts of peripheral nerve injury and pain management with related synonyms. The strategies were created using a combination of controlled vocabulary terms and keywords and were executed in Embase.com, Ovid-Medline All, and Scopus from database inception. Database searches were completed on August 22, 2023.

Multiple myeloma is a treatable, but currently incurable, hematological malignancy of plasma cells characterized by diverse and complex tumor genetics for which precision medicine approaches to treatment are lacking. The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation's Relating Clinical Outcomes in Multiple Myeloma to Personal Assessment of Genetic Profile study ( NCT01454297 ) is a longitudinal, observational clinical study of newly diagnosed patients with multiple myeloma (n = 1,143) where tumor samples are characterized using whole-genome sequencing, whole-exome sequencing and RNA sequencing at diagnosis and progression, and clinical data are collected every 3 months. PURPOSE: Recently, learning-based denoising methods that incorporate task-relevant information into the training procedure have been developed to enhance the utility of the denoised images. However, this line of research is relatively new and underdeveloped, and some fundamental issues remain unexplored. Our purpose is to yield insights into general issues related to these task-informed methods. This includes understanding the impact of denoising on objective measures of image quality (IQ) when the specified task at inference time is different from that employed for model training, a phenomenon we refer to as "task-shift."
