Introduction: Laparoscopic one-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is a widely performed bariatric procedure with favorable outcomes; however, it carries a risk of postoperative complications. An infected intra-abdominal hematoma is a rare but potentially serious complication, often presenting with nonspecific features that can delay diagnosis.

Case presentation: A 29-year-old female with class II obesity (BMI 36 kg/m2 ) underwent elective laparoscopic OAGB. The immediate postoperative course was uneventful, and she was discharged in stable condition. Eleven days later, she presented with fever and systemic symptoms without significant abdominal findings. Laboratory investigations suggested sepsis. Objective: To determine the uptake and recommendations for revision of the 2018 Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG): Core Set Outcome Measures for Adults with Neurologic Conditions Undergoing Rehabilitation.

Design: Online Survey

Setting: Online with participants from multiple settings.

Participants: Licensed physical therapists (PT) or physical therapist assistants (PTA) or a non-PT supervisor of PTs and/or PTAs.

Introduction: Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is a rare but reversible cause of secondary parkinsonism. Bilateral CSDH presenting with unilateral parkinsonian features is exceptionally uncommon.

Case presentation: A 61-year-old male from Comoros developed a right-hand tremor, intermittent dystonia, and mild right-sided motor deficits months after a motor vehicle accident. Medical therapy was ineffective. Imaging revealed bilateral frontoparietal subdural collections with a right hematoma causing a midline shift. Bilateral burr-hole evacuation led to marked improvement, with the UPDRS Part III score improving from approximately 7 to 1–2 points and near-complete hematoma resolution on follow-up.

Variations in the bidirectional relationship between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and insomnia in co-morbid insomnia and OSA (COMISA) may form distinct subtypes of COMISA, which have not been previously characterized. This study aims to identify and characterize subtypes of COMISA.

Methods

From a community-recruited COMISA cohort 256 individuals who met diagnosis for COMISA were used to identify subtypes using a two-step clustering methodology. Demographics and multidimension clinical characteristics were collected and compared among obtained subtypes. This study examined the relationship between early-life dietary habits, perceived parental support, and collegiate competition level among female soccer athletes. Current and former NCAA Division I, II, III, and junior college athletes completed an anonymous retrospective survey assessing dietary behaviors, meal patterns, parental nutrition support, and sport-related factors. Of the 112 surveys received, 81 complete responses were included in the analysis. Participants had a mean age of 23.0 ± 3.8 years. Higher levels of collegiate competition were associated with more supportive home nutrition environments during childhood and adolescence. While recognizing the link between prenatal nutrition and maternal-fetal health, this investigator-initiated study seeks to identify pregnant women's understanding of prenatal nutrition guidelines and the influences on their dietary choices. Thirty-eight eligible women completed an online, anonymous surveying assessing the scope of knowledge and decision-making patterns of healthy eating during pregnancy. The average knowledge score among the participants was 6.05/14. There was no significant difference in the knowledge scores among pregnancy periods or among total number of pregnancies. Background: Sleep disturbances elevate brain amyloid-beta (Aβ) levels and represent a modifiable risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The orexin/hypocretin system regulates sleep–wake behavior and has emerged as a therapeutic target in AD; however, the effects of FDA-approved dual orexin receptor antagonists (DORAs) on amyloid pathology remain unclear. We compared lemborexant, an FDA-approved DORA, to doxepin, an antihistaminergic sleep medication, on amyloid pathology and microglial responses in PSAPP mice.

Virtual Reality (VR) systems are being used more in education, entertainment, and research, but can produce motion sickness that could temporarily disrupt cognitive functioning. This study examined whether exposure to a VR roller coaster experience leads to short-term changes in cognitive flexibility, attention, spatial orientation awareness, and anxiety compared to a control condition. Participants were randomly assigned to a VR condition or a computer-based 2D viewing condition with identical roller coaster visual content. Background: Microgravity exposure alters cardiovascular loading, yet its impact on left atrial flow dynamics and thrombotic risk remains poorly understood. This study investigates how spaceflight-relevant microgravity-induced changes in cardiac outflow affect left atrial hemodynamics in healthy individuals and patients with atrial fibrillation.

Humans with type 1 diabetes (T1D) have a higher-than-expected fracture risk, and bone is weak in mouse models of T1D. Since hyperglycemia is thought to deleteriously affect tissue-level sensitivity of insulin action, we hypothesized that glucose-lowering by canagliflozin (Cana) improves the ability of insulin treatment to rescue the T1D-related decrease in bone strength. Introduction: The initiation of buprenorphine for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) in the emergency department (ED) has been associated with improved outcomes including reduced ED visits and increased treatment engagement. Though both standard-dose (8 mg buprenorphine equivalent) and high-dose (24 mg buprenorphine equivalent) strategies to initiate buprenorphine have been used in the ED, no prospective trials comparing outcomes among patients receiving these treatments have been reported.

Recovery support and treatment linkages are critical during transitions from incarceration to community but can be challenging to deliver to hard-to-reach populations. This paper will examine Facebook contacts between peer navigators (PNs) and women with opioid use disorder (OUD) following jail release to explore women’s use of PN services, including purpose and content of Facebook messages. วัตถุประสงค์ : เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงต่อความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแล หอผู้ป่วยเด็ก โรงพยาบาลศิครินทร์ กรุงเทพมหานคร

แบบแผนงานวิจัย : การวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง แบบศึกษาสองกลุ่มวัดครั้งเดียว

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย : กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้ดูแลอายุ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ที่รับผิดชอบดูแลผู้ป่วยเด็กที่มีอาการสำคัญในการมาโรงพยาบาลด้วยมีไข้สูง อุณหภูมิกายมากกว่า 38.5 องศาเซลเซียส ซึ่งเป็นอุณหภูมิแรกรับที่รับผู้ป่วยเข้ารับการรักษาตัวในหอผู้ป่วยเด็ก แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง และกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 24 คน กลุ่มทดลองได้รับโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงตามแนวคิดการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้ดูแลร่วมกับการทบทวนวรรณกรรม กลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไปของผู้ดูแลและของเด็กที่มีไข้สูง แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลต่อการพยาบาลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง โดยผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 3 คน มีค่าดัชนีความตรงตามเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 1 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา และสถิติทดสอบที

ผลการวิจัย : ค่าเฉลี่ยความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลระหว่างกลุ่มที่ได้รับโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง สูงกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 (t = 5.182)

สรุป : โปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง ส่งผลให้ผู้ดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงเกิดความพึงพอใจสูงขึ้น ผู้บริหารการพยาบาล ควรนำโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงนี้ไปอบรมพยาบาลเด็ก เพื่อนำไปสอนญาติหรือผู้ดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสะอาดของลำไส้ใหญ่ และความพึงพอใจการบริการพยาบาล ผู้ที่เตรียมตัวก่อนส่องกล้องลำไส้ใหญ่ครั้งแรกก่อน-หลังเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมส่งเสริมการจัดการตนเองโดยการให้ข้อมูลอย่างมีแบบแผน

รูปแบบการวิจัย: การวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง (Quasi-experimental research design) แบบ 2 กลุ่ม

วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย: การวิจัยนี้เก็บข้อมูลในระหว่างวันที่ 1 กุมภาพันธ์ ถึง 30 เมษายน 2567  ในผู้ที่เตรียมตัวก่อนส่องกล้องลำไส้ใหญ่ครั้งแรก ณ หอผู้ป่วยนอก แผนกโรคทางเดินอาหารและตับ โรงพยาบาลเอกชน ที่อายุตั้งแต่ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ทั้งเพศชายและเพศหญิง จำนวน 50 คน แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 25 คน โดยจับคู่กลุ่มตัวอย่างให้มีคุณสมบัติใกล้เคียงกันด้วย อายุและโรค กลุ่มทดลองได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมการจัดการตนเองโดยการให้ข้อมูลอย่างมีแบบแผน ส่วนกลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล 3 ชุด ได้แก่ 1) ข้อมูลทั่วไปส่วนบุคคล 2) แบบประเมินสะอาดของลำไส้ 3) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจบริการพยาบาลของผู้ป่วยนอก สัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคได้ 0.8 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา และ Mann Whitney U test โดยกำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .05

ผลการวิจัย: หลังสิ้นสุดโปรแกรม กลุ่มทดลองมีความสะอาดของลำไส้ใหญ่ดีกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความพึงพอใจการบริการพยาบาลดีกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

สรุป: โปรแกรมส่งเสริมการจัดการตนเองโดยการให้ข้อมูลอย่างมีแบบแผน ตามแนวคิดทฤษฎีการจัดการตนเอง Creer (2000) ทำให้ผู้ที่เตรียมตัวก่อนส่องกล้องลำไส้ใหญ่ครั้งแรกมีความรู้ และสามารถในการจัดการตนเองได้  เพื่อความสะอาดของลำไส้ใหญ่และความพึงพอใจการบริการพยาบาลได้

Background and Objective:Menstrual irregularities are a common gynecological complaint, often linked to thyroid dysfunction, which disrupts the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis. This study sought to assess prevalence of thyroid dysfunction among reproductive-aged women with menstrual irregularities and to evaluate the specific clinical and hormonal correlations between different menstrual patterns and Thyroid Status.
