A Quality Improvement Project To Enhance Chronic-Condition And Self-Care Knowledge In Adolescents With Spina Bifida, Ann Paris
DNP Scholarly Projects
Background: Spina Bifida is the most common central nervous system disorder in the United States (CDC, 2024). Even with early surgical repair, patients may have chronic, disabling, multisystem needs (Phillips et al., 2017). Adequate care of Spina Bifida requires a multidisciplinary approach. As such, patients with spina bifida require multiple specialty providers, clinic appointments, care-tasks, and interventions (CDC, 2024, Phillips, et al., 2017). Synthesizing information from multiple care providers can be daunting, especially for adolescents as they grow more autonomous in their care, and especially as they enter the age of pediatric-to-adult transition (Psihogios et al., 2015).

Improving End-Of-Life Care: A Nursing Education Initiative, Spring C. Kingsley
DNP Projects
Background: This study addresses the gap in education and training for medical intensive care unit (MICU) nurses regarding the care of hospice patients. The traditional medical model of healthcare prioritizes illness treatment, often leading to inadequate end-of-life support and increased hospitalization during patients' final days. The rise of in-hospital hospice programs, or scatter-bed hospice models, highlights the need for nurses to enhance their skills in providing end-of-life compassionate care. The MICU at the University of Kentucky’s Chandler Hospital serves as a focal point for this initiative, given its role in caring for critically ill patients who require hospice attention.

Forgiveness Of Self And Others: A Group Approach To The Treatment Of Ptsd And Other Trauma Related Experiences, Jarrod A. Mask
Psychology Doctoral Specialization Projects
Forgiveness is often misinterpreted as the act of forgetting what happened or offering one’s offender the ability to redeem themselves for their wrongdoings. This is simply not the case. Rather, forgiveness is the process of the individual making the unprovoked choice to release their resentment in their own voyage towards living a free and happy life without being imprisoned from the emotions un-forgiveness produces. Forgiveness, as it may be a necessary process for the individual is to attain a sense of peaceful acceptance and liberation from their pain, is not an easy process. Tigit And Gdf-15 As Biomarkers And Targets In Renal Cell Carcinoma Resistant To Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors, Oscar Norberto Perales
Yale Medicine Thesis Digital Library
Immune checkpoint inhibitors have become the standard of care treatment for local and systemic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (RCC). However, a subset of patients fail these therapies due to the development of disease refractory to such treatments. Therefore, it is imperative that we study the potential mechanisms of resistance to immune checkpoint inhibition within the tumor microenvironment. Likewise, establishing biomarkers indicative of treatment resistance may benefit clinicians and patients when it comes to the initial selection of treatment. Moreover, biomarkers of resistance might also serve as potential drug targets. In this study we analyzed expression of TIGIT and GDF-15, …
