Disability-serving non-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a critical role in fostering care networks and supporting humanitarian action for disabled people before and during emergencies, particularly in the absence of targeted philanthropic and governmental support. However, relatively few NGOs serving disabled people are led or operated by people with disabilities, especially by disabled women. This analysis, based on survey and interview data with leadership, explores the impact of two disability-led operations. Despite a national vaccination rate of 59%, only 25% of adult Latinx men are vaccinated. Notably, Latinx individuals can belong to any race. Background: Prosthetic limbs often lack the innate control and sensory feedback capabilities of natural limbs, requiring more cognitive effort or attention during motor tasks. While a conceptual model of prosthetic attention exists for lower limb (LL) users, its applicability to upper limb (UL) remains unclear. This study aimed to explore how LL and UL users experience prosthetic attention, and explore factors that influence the existing model.

Purpose: This study assessed general attitudes toward artificial intelligence and medical artificial intelligence readiness among medical and health sciences students and examined the factors that influence the medical artificial intelligence readiness of the students.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional quantitative online survey was conducted among medical and health sciences students. We employed the 'General Attitudes Toward Artificial Intelligence Scale' (GAAIS) to assess students' artificial intelligence attitudes and the 'Medical Artificial Intelligence Readiness of Students Scale for Medical Students' (MAIRS-MS) to measure student readiness for medical artificial intelligence.

Abstract: A recent analysis by the Oregon Regional Antimicrobial Stewardship Program demonstrated that across the Oregon region, MRSA NAAT from the nares have a high negative predictive value (NPV) of 99.4%. These findings were consistent when stratified by culture site. The high NPV suggests that MRSA NAAT nasal swabs can be useful in promoting de-escalation (e.g., discontinuation) of anti-MRSA treatment. In breast x-ray imaging scattered radiation adds 50% of harmful radiation dose from anisotropic Compton scattering mechanism. We have been working with double layered inorganic salt materials that can induce Compton scattering to the incident mammographic x ray beams (in 20-30 kVp range) with adequate isotropy (angular control). Typically metal nitrates and alkali halide salt layers are shown here to cause low energy radiation interference zones with high and low photon intensities and local flux heterogeneity in terms of flux covariance. For hospitalized patients on MAT, the management of acute pain presents a unique challenge to health care providers. A previous study examining buprenorphine discontinuation patterns on medical/surgical floors found that 11.8% of patients had their buprenorphine discontinued due to inadequate analgesia. Background: In 2021, the NIAAA reported that alcohol use disorder affected 29.5 million Americans. Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention (SBI) is an evidence-based prevention strategy, recommended by the USPSTF, to reduce alcohol consumption. Unfortunately, less than 50% of patients receive advice from their provider about the harms of excessive alcohol use. Introduction: Central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) affects how a listener understands speech even though their peripheral auditory system is intact. Case Presentation: An adult female was seen for a CAPD evaluation after experiencing recent listening difficulties following an automobile accident while 20 weeks pregnant. Results from a comprehensive audiological evaluation revealed audiometrically normal hearing in both ears. Results from the CAPD evaluation suggested a prosodic deficit. Discussion: Although results from testing were consistent with a prosodic deficit, the patient’s case history, original complaints, and recommendations were more consistent with an integration deficit.
