In drug discovery, AI technology is used to classify proteins as drug targets or non-targets for specific diseases, more accurately interpret and describe pharmacology in a quantitative fashion, and predict protein structures based on only a protein sequence for input. Resistance to the current Androgen Receptor Signaling Inhibitor (ARSI) therapies has led to higher incidences of therapy-induced neuroendocrine-like prostate cancer (t-NEPC). This highly aggressive subtype with predominant small-cell-like characteristics is resistant to taxane chemotherapies and has a dismal overall survival. t-NEPCs are mostly treated with platinum-based drugs with a combination of etoposide or taxane and have less selectivity and high systemic toxicity, which often limit their clinical potential. During t-NEPC transformation, adenocarcinomas lose their luminal features and adopt neuro-basal characteristics. Claudins (CLDN1-CLDN24) are a family of tight junction proteins whose dysregulation has been implicated in tumorigeneses of many cancer types. In colorectal cancer (CRC), CLDN1, CLDN2, CLDN4, and CLDN18 have been shown to either be upregulated or aberrantly expressed. In the normal colon, CLDN1 and CLDN3-7 are expressed. Although a few claudins, such as CLDN6 and CLDN7, are expressed in CRC their levels are reduced compared to the normal colon. The present review outlines the expression profiles of claudin proteins in CRC and those that are potential biomarkers for prognostication.

การศึกษาในครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหย ต่อภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้ป่วยภายหลังการเกิดภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจตายเฉียบพลัน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้ป่วยที่มีภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจตายเฉียบพลัน อายุตั้งแต่ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ขณะเข้ารับการรักษาในหอผู้ป่วยวิกฤตโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด โรงพยาบาลพระมงกุฎเกล้า คัดเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างตามเกณฑ์คุณสมบัติ แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มทดลองกลุ่มละ 22 คน จับคู่ให้มีความใกล้เคียงกันในเรื่องเพศและอายุ กลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลปกติ ในขณะที่กลุ่มทดลองได้รับ โปรแกรมการใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหยต่อภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้ป่วยภายหลังการเกิดภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจตายเฉียบพลัน ระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์ เครื่องมือที่ใช้เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบประเมินแบบสอบถามภาวะซึมเศร้า และ เครื่องมือกำกับการทดลอง คือ แบบบันทึกการใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหย มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ของครอนบาค 0.82 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติบรรยายและสถิติt – test โดยกำหนดนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้ป่วยภายหลังการเกิดภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจตายเฉียบพลันกลุ่มทดลองหลังได้รับโปรแกรมการใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหยต่ำกว่าก่อนได้รับโปรแกรมการใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหยอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (t = 7.35 ,df = 21 ,p = .000 ) 2. ค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้ป่วยภายหลังการเกิดภาวะกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจตายเฉียบพลันกลุ่มทดลองต่ำกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 (t = 1.75 ,df = 42 ,p = .04 )

Identification Of A New Human Disease Gene For Dilated Cardiomyopathy (Dcm), Rutairat Wongong

Pathogenic BAG5 variants recently linked to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) prompt further investigation into phenotypic, mutational, and pathomechanistic aspects. We explored the clinical and molecular characteristics of DCM associated with BAG5 variants, uncovering the consistently severe manifestation of the disease and its impact on the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response. Analysis involved three siblings affected by DCM, along with their four unaffected siblings and consanguineous parents. Exome and Sanger sequencing identified a novel BAG5 variant, c.444_445delGA (p.Lys149AsnfsTer6), homozygous in affected siblings and heterozygous in parents and unaffected siblings. Labor migration is a prevalent phenomenon in Nepal, with many men leaving the country searching for employment opportunities, often leaving their families behind. This study explores the impact of this migration on women's postpartum experiences, including factors such as emotional support, financial strain, and childcare responsibilities. A qualitative approach was used, conducting interviews of 31(16 women with labor-migrant spouses and 15 with non-migrant spouses) to gather insights into the unique challenges faced by the two groups of women during the postpartum period. Chaque année, de nombreux travailleurs ont de la difficulté à retourner au travail en raison d'une incapacité. L’incapacité au travail due à un problème de santé, lorsqu’elle persiste dans le temps, a des répercussions importantes pour les travailleurs, mais aussi pour leurs employeurs. Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a highly prevalent condition among adults and is correlated to high levels of pain, high disability, and lower quality of life. This study aimed to explore pediatric dentists' perspectives on obesity-related interventions for parents of young children. A web-based survey was administered to 210 American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry members. Findings revealed that respondents considered it important for various healthcare professionals, especially pediatricians and nurse practitioners, to engage in obesity-related parent education. Strong consensus existed on educating parents about the link between early childhood caries and diet, soft drink and fruit juice consumption, and healthy snacking. The study also found positive attitudes correlated with increased engagement in objective weight determination, data collection, and diet/nutrition counseling.
