AIMS: Mutations in the DSP gene encoding desmoplakin, a constituent of the desmosomes at the intercalated discs (IDs), cause a phenotype that spans arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) and dilated cardiomyopathy. It is typically characterized by biventricular enlargement and dysfunction, myocardial fibrosis, cell death, and arrhythmias. The canonical wingless-related integration (cWNT)/β-catenin pathway is implicated in the pathogenesis of ACM. The β-catenin is an indispensable co-transcriptional regulator of the cWNT pathway and a member of the IDs. We genetically inactivated or activated β-catenin to determine its role in the pathogenesis of desmoplakin cardiomyopathy.

This study aimed to measure health profession education students’ satisfaction toward the e-learning process within all health sciences cluster (HSC) courses, following further validation of the satisfaction scale for the e-learning process.

Tuberkulosis merupakan infeksi opportunistik yang mematikan. WHO melaporkan bahwa TB menjadi penyebab kematian 187.000 pasien HIV. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran faktor risiko pasien HIV yang menderita TB berdasarkan karakteristik demografi, stadium klinis HIV, status sosial ekonomi dan faktor risiko HIV/AIDS di RSUD Kota Bogor tahun 2016-2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain studi cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan cara purposive sampling dan didapatkan sampel sebanyak 60 responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukan jumlah pasien HIV TB (+) periode 2016-2021 di RSUD Kota Bogor sebagian besar berusia < 35 Tahun (73,7%), berjenis kelamin laki laki (90,2%), belum menikah (82,8%) tingkat pendidikan tinggi (71,7%), status tidak bekerja (80%), berada pada stadium klinis 3 dan 4 (82,6%) dan memiliki status sosial ekonomi kurang mampu (81,6%) serta faktor risiko perilaku seksual (72,4%). Kurangnya kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan menjadi faktor risiko munculnya jenis HIV yang resisten terhadap obat, yang dapat ditularkan kepada orang lain. Kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan yang buruk tidak hanya membahayakan kesehatan individu tetapi juga meningkatkan penularan. Osteoporosis represents a significant global public health issue, particularly among the aging population. Its incidence reaches 18.3% of the total population, with the highest prevalence observed in elderly postmenopausal women. A key factor in osteoporosis is the decreased expression level of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα), attributed to its degradation by the ubiquitin ligase protein complex Cullin4B (CUL4B), DNA damage binding 1 (DDB1), and aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), collectively known as CUL4BAhR. Ki hampelas (Sterculia rubiginosa Zoll. Ex Miq.) is traditionally used as an antiasthma. It also reported has antioxidant and nephroprotective activity. This study was conducted to evaluate the subchronic toxicity of the leaf extract of ki hampelas. The extract was orally administered to male and female Sprague-Dawley rats at doses of 50, 200, and 400 mg/kg bodyweight (BW) per day for 28 days.
