The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

After interviewing 300 pet keepers, two third of respondents are female whose household leaders hold Bachelor degree or above (33.8%) and overall family income is more then 50,000 bahts a month (26.8%). Most pet keepens keep pets as friends (33.5%), obtaining pets from acquaintants (44.1%), purchase (22.7%). Seventy pont two percent of those pet keepers perchase pets from Chatuchak Sunday Market. Ninety-one point seven percent of pets reared are dogs while 41.4% of them are mixed breeds. Before obtaining pets, most pet keepers have no knowledge of pet care (67.6%).
