Menopause is a natural, nonpathological event that occurs due to decreasing estrogen levels that may be achieved naturally or through surgical means. One of the most commonly reported and often painful symptoms of menopause is urogenital atrophy, also known as vaginal atrophy. Symptoms include vaginal pruritus, dyspareunia, dryness, vaginal irritation, dysuria, and tightness associated with thinning and reduced elasticity of the vaginal mucosa. Hypercholesterolemia is estimated to effect 31.7% of the United States population according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The mainstay of treatment for this condition is currently statin therapy. While these medications are often effective in decreasing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) to patient’s goal range, there are populations in which they are not sufficient. These populations include those who have genetic predispositions, such as familial hypercholesterolemia, or those who experience refractory hypercholesterolemia to statin medications. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a prevalent neuropsychiatric condition affecting children, often characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Recent evidence suggests a potential link between gut microbiota composition and neuropsychiatric disorders, including ADHD, through the gut-brain axis (GBA). A literature review of studies published between 2017 and 2024 explores the efficacy of multinutrient interventions on influencing gut microbiota to treat the core symptoms of ADHD in children ages 6-12 years old. Chronic pain is one of the most common reasons patients seek care from primary care providers. Individualized responses to pain medications make pain difficult to treat effectively. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the utility of pharmacogenetic-guided opioid therapy across chronic, postoperative, and cancer-related pain. A structured search of PubMed and Embase yielded 151 articles, of which nine met the inclusion criteria. Findings suggest that pharmacogenetic-guided therapy may reduce opioid dosages and enhance pain control, particularly in chronic pain settings. Fluency disorders, including stuttering and cluttering, disrupt one’s natural rate of speech and can cause implications for one’s emotional well-being. This study explores the relationship between language factors and stuttered events in preschool-age children by analyzing a spontaneous language sample using two transcription software programs, CLAN and SALT. This case study compares two widely used language sample analysis (LSA) programs including the Systematic Analysis of Language Transcripts (SALT) software and the Child Language Analysis (CLAN) software. The comparison aims to evaluate their effectiveness in analyzing the conversation-based language sample of a preschool-aged child who was reported at-risk for stuttering. This study aimed to develop a more nuanced understanding of the association between bereavement and its psychological and biological consequences, and the potential mediating role of symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress within the relationship between bereavement and inflammation. Research indicates that individuals who consume alcohol beyond recommended guidelines are at-risk for harmful health outcomes. Moreover, alcohol is often used as a coping strategy to alleviate negative emotions that stem from self-discrepancies, potentially reinforcing maladaptive drinking behavior and exacerbating alcohol-related problems. While resilience is widely considered a protective factor, limited research has examined its role in conjunction with personality traits, psychosocial factors, and demographic characteristics. In-situ coagulation is a common clinical feature of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) that presents a highly thrombotic and crosslinked insoluble fibrin (x-fibrin)-laden tumor stroma (FibTS). However, the specific impact of FibTS on immune cells behavior remains largely unexplored in this poorly infiltrated tumor. We aimed to elucidate how FibTS in PDAC regulates immune cell infiltration, polarization, and crosstalk that favors immunosuppressive microenvironment and tumor growth. T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive and complex malignancy that accounts for 15% of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cases in the United States. Tyrosine kinases control critical cellular processes, including the development, survival, and activation of T cells, and are established drivers of leukemia.Tyrosine kinases involved in hematological disorders include receptor tyrosine kinases and non-receptor tyrosine kinases family members such as SRC, ABL, FAK, and Janus kinases (JAKs). The proliferation of both electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) and cannabis has contributed to a concerning trend of dual usage, posing a greater public health risk, particularly pronounced among at-risk populations of increased substance use, such as Hispanic young adult college students. This study utilized the socioecological framework and social cognitive theory to observe behavioral and sociocultural constructs associated with dual use and identify potential risk and protective factors.
