Give Love With Lovenox: Reducing Pulmonary Embolism Risk In The Postpartum Unit Through Lovenox Prophylaxis Nursing Education, Guadalupe Sierra Arroyo

Master's Projects and Capstones

Problem: This quality improvement project aims to improve nurse education on Lovenox prophylaxis to reduce pulmonary embolism occurrence post-discharge amongst high-risk postpartum women who underwent vaginal/cesarean deliveries and to increase patient medication compliance in the Family Baby Unit (FBU) at Hospital X.

A Public Health Educational Campaign For Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (Suid) Intervention, Elia G. Peralta Landeros

Master's Projects and Capstones

This thesis proposes utilizing the Safe to Sleep framework to introduce Giving Breath, a public health education campaign that introduced breastfeeding as an intervention to Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID).

Methods:

Preventing Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections In An Adult Intensive Care Unit, Monica Shaw May 2021

Preventing Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections In An Adult Intensive Care Unit, Monica Shaw

Master's Projects and Capstones

Central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) are considered preventable healthcare acquired infections, and are associated with significantly increased morbidity, mortality, and length of hospital stay. The CLABSI rate in an inpatient unit is a meaningful metric in relation to the safety and quality of care in that microsystem. This quality improvement project examines the efficacy of a CLABSI prevention bundle in reducing CLABSI events and improving adherence to central line care policy within a medical surgical adult intensive care unit. The target areas the bundle aimed to improve were unit processes, awareness of CLABSI and central line policies, and …
