Purpose: The purpose of this project was intended to transform the outdated method of conducting debrief after simulation by implementing a good judgment model and integrating the concept of “advocacy-inquiry.” This implementation was expected to reduce demoralizing and anxiety producing debrief experiences and improve student reflection and learning in order for students to more deliberately link theory with practice.

There is a paradox in the profession of nursing. Although nursing is known as the caring profession, evidence demonstrates that nurses do not care well for their own. Literature demonstrates that the phenomenon of horizontal violence (HV) is an international problem in the nursing profession, which negatively affects the nurse workplace environment. HV is broadly described as aggressive destructive behavior and intergroup conflict that occurs between nurses. Where behaviors of HV exist, the workplace becomes a toxic environment or nurses (Woefle & McCaffrey, 2007).

Cognitive deficits have been shown to affect those who have undergone treatment with chemotherapy. This is often referred to as chemo-brain. The purpose of this descriptive phenomenological study was to explore the lived experience of the chemo brain after undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. The study sample consisted of six women between the ages of 29 and 50 with early stage breast cancer. van Manen’s (1997) descriptive phenomenological method guided data analysis.
