Inhibition Of Chemically Induced Carcinogenesis By Drugs Used In Homeopathic Medicine, K Hari Kumar, E Sunila, Girija Kuttan, K Preethi, C Venugopal, Ramadasan Kuttan

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Homeopathy is considered as one modality for cancer therapy. However, there are only very few clinical reports on the activity of the drugs, as well as in experimental animals. Presently we have evaluated the inhibitory effects of potentized homeopathic preparations against N′- nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) induced hepatocellular carcinoma in rats as well as 3- methylcholanthrene-induced sarcomas in mice. We have used Ruta, Hydrastis, Lycopodium and Thuja, which are commonly employed in homeopathy for treating cancer. Administration of NDEA in rats resulted in tumor induction in the liver and elevated marker enzymes such as gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, glutamate pyruvate transaminase, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase …

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Objective: To elicit the pharmacodynamic response of the drug, Cuscuta reflexa (dodder) on healthy human volunteers, in non-toxic doses. Methodology: Drug Cuscuta reflexa was proved through a double-blind method. The homoeopathic preparation of the drug was proved in three potencies (6C, 30C and 200C) on 13 volunteers who were selected and declared apparently healthy during their pre-trial medical examination by specialists and through their routine pathological investigations. The volunteers consumed 56 doses (four doses per day for fourteen days) of each potency (6C, 30C and 200C) in three stages for a varying period. The symptoms generated during the trial period …

A Case Of Vitiligo Treated By Sulphur, D Jha, L Debata

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Vitiligo, as a cosmetic problem, is a source of great embarrassment to dark skinned people. An attempt was made by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) to ascertain the role of homoeopathic therapy and to identify homoeopathic medicines useful in the management of Vitiligo. Here is a case from the ongoing clinical research study on vitiligo at Regional Research Institute (Homoeopathy), Puri, treated by Sulphur. The case was followed up over a period of 2 years with marked improvement in white patches which is evident from the photographs.

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Screening of 4543 children between 6-18 years of age from different schools of Delhi was done during the first phase of research study under EMR project by AYUSH, for thyroid function status-clinically, serologically & ultrasonographically. Data of 4506 children has been analyzed & it has been found that goiter is prevalent at mild endemic level in children (17%) even after two decades of iodization. Significant increase in anti TPO ab positivity (6.39%) and thyroid dysfunction (11.92%) raises suspicion about the role of environmental goitrogens and prolonged iodine supplementation

Effect Of Three Potentized Homoeopathic Drugs On Alcohol-Induced Changes In The Nerve Plexus Of Heart And Serum Parameters In Albino Rats, N C. Sukul, Raj K. Singh, S P. Sinhababu

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Rats were given 20% alcohol as compulsory drink for 6 months. They were treated separately with Nux vom 30, Chelidonium 30 & Carbon sulph 30, one dose daily for 30 days in the 6th month. After 6 months all the rats were autopsied & their blood samples were taken for serological tests. Atrio- ventricular valves of the rats were taken out, processed & examined for adrenergic nerve plexuses. Treatment with Nux vom 30 & Chelidonium 30 reduced significantly alcohol-induced degeneration of adrenergic nerve plexuses of rats as compared to the untreated control of alcohol fed rats. These two homoeopathic potencies …

The latex extracted from Euphorbia tirucalli, a plant popularly known as Aveloz, is used in complementary medicine to induce tumor regression. However, as this latex has toxic effects when administered orally in ponderal doses, the present study was designed to assess the effects of high dilutions in healthy mice over a period of 18 weeks. The Aveloz latex-high diluted solutions (latex-HD) were obtained through the interaction of two processes: 1:100 dilution in mass and succussion, using ethanol 70% as a solvent, in the homeopathic dilutions of 5, 15 and 30cH, following Farmacopéia Homeopática Brasileira. Control solutions without latex were compounded …

Diabetic Distal Symmetric Polyneuropathy: A Case Study, Pratima Devi, Sabyasachi Biswas Mar 2009

Diabetic Distal Symmetric Polyneuropathy: A Case Study, Pratima Devi, Sabyasachi Biswas

Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

The most common form of diabetic neuropathy is diabetic distal symmetric polyneuropathy. It most frequently presents with distal sensory loss. Treatment of diabetic neuropathy is unsatisfactory in modern treatment. A case of Diabetic Distal Symmetric Polyneuropathy in a 40-year-old male treated with homoeopathy is reported here. This case shows the efficacy of homoeopathic medicine, Phosphorus, in giving not only symptomatic relief to the patient but also improving the pathological findings and peripheral nerve conduction.
