Background
Limited English Proficiency (LEP) is a barrier among Hispanic communities in accessing digital health tools including patient portals.1
Patient portals provide patients with access to their electronic medical records. With portals, patients can schedule visits, message providers, check test results, and order medication refills, among other tasks.
Portal use has been shown to help patients better manage chronic diseases, enhance doctor-patient relationships, improve patient understanding and awareness of health status, and increase adherence to therapy.2
Despite interest in using patient portals, Spanish-speaking patients often struggle to use them due to low digital literacy.3

Background
- Prinzmetal angina is a transient, reversible form of acute coronary syndrome
- Characterized by coronary artery spasms that can lead to myocardial ischemia
- Hypothesized that this phenomenon is secondary to coronary hyperreactivity from endothelial or smooth muscle dysfunction¹
- Patients with Prinzmetal angina are at high risk during surgery
- Up to 50% of patients may experience myocardial infarction, fatal arrhythmia, or unstable angina during non-cardiac surgery²
- Limited data looking at postoperative outcomes in patients with Prinzmetal angina
- Goal: Evaluate whether individuals with Prinzmetal angina are at greater risk of mortality, myocardial infarction, and arrhythmia during abdominal surgery

Investigating Dual Task Balance Exercises: Quantifying Practice Patterns And Understanding Decision-Making Among Physical Therapists, Amelia Sabin, Wes Spagnuolo, Narissa Libby, Kylie Berry
Research Report Posters
Dual-task exercise has been shown to be an effective intervention to improve patient functional outcomes and decrease falls. However, little is known about whether physical therapists are prescribing dual task exercises during their sessions, or at what intensity. The objective of this research was to analyze differences and similarities of observed balance exercise practice patterns and reported practice and decision-making among physical therapists. We analyzed both quantitative and qualitative data from two separate studies and extracted data regarding dual-task balance exercises. Our analysis found that therapists rarely perform, describe, or report thinking about dual-task balance exercises in their physical therapy …

Labor & Delivery Ebp Project: Reducing Implicit Bias In Nursing As A Way To Decrease Maternal Racial Health Disparities And Improve Outcomes, Julianne Andreades, Robin Illian
Nurse Residency
Introduction/Background:
• Maternal mortality for Black birthing people in the United States is 3X higher than it is for white birthing people (CDC, 2022).
• Racism, including implicit bias, is a driver of these disparities (CDC, 2022).
• Research has shown that clinicians' implicit bias, defined as unconscious attitudes and beliefs that impact behaviors, affects treatment decisions and patient outcomes (Groves et al., 2021 and Siden et al., 2022).
