Evaluating Value-Based Frameworks Used For Relapsed Or Refractory Multiple Myeloma Regimens: Icer Report, Asco Value Framework, And Nccn Evidence Blocks, Laurence M. Djatche, Pharmd, Joseph Goble, Pharmd, Grace Chun, Pharmd, Stefan Varga, Pharmd

College of Population Health Posters

BACKGROUND: With the continuous rise in costs for oncology drugs, the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) have developed value-based frameworks (VBFs) to assist stakeholders in formulary and treatment decisionmaking. While emerging VBFs have the potential to significantly impact therapeutic options for patients, it is important to understand the differences associated with those VBFs within a therapeutic area. OBJECTIVE: To compare ICER, ASCO, and NCCN VBFs across three therapeutic options for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM).

METHODS: The values of carfilzomib (CFZ), elotuzumab (ELO), …

Emerging Technologies And The Measurement Of Consciousness, Kristin Corona

Community of Scholars Day—Posters

With significant advancements in science and technology, along with increased focus on neuroplasticity, new ways to measure consciousness and changes in consciousness are emerging. Advanced neuroimaging technologies are being succeeded by more holistic methods of gathering data with the use of electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring. The implications are better tools for the scientific community to assess medical conditions and cognitive states as well as higher awareness and integration of consciousness into our everyday lives.

Population Pharmacokinetic And Pharmacodynamic Analysis Of Buprenorphine For The Treatment Of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Jason N. Moore, Pharmd, Marc Gastonguay, Susan C. Adeniyi-Jones, Md, David E. Moody, Walter K. Kraft, Md, Facp Mar 2017

Population Pharmacokinetic And Pharmacodynamic Analysis Of Buprenorphine For The Treatment Of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Jason N. Moore, Pharmd, Marc Gastonguay, Susan C. Adeniyi-Jones, Md, David E. Moody, Walter K. Kraft, Md, Facp

Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Posters

Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) is a condition affecting newborns exposed to an opioid in utero. Symptoms of NAS include excessive crying, poor feeding, and disordered autonomic control. Up to 2/3 of infants will require pharmacologic therapies to reach symptom control. Opioids including morphine and methadone are the current first-line treatments. Buprenorphine is being investigated as a treatment of NAS. The purpose of this analysis was to evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of BUP in infants with NAS.

Poster presented at American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) 2017 Annual Meeting, March 15-18, 2017 in Washington DC.

Leaders Of The Pack: Women And The Future Of Veterinary Medicine, Julie Kumble, Donald F. Smith Mar 2017

Leaders Of The Pack: Women And The Future Of Veterinary Medicine, Julie Kumble, Donald F. Smith

Purdue University Press Book Previews

Veterinary medicine has undergone sweeping changes in the last few decades. Women now account for 55 percent of the active veterinarians in the field, and nearly 80 percent of veterinary students are women. However, average salaries have dropped as this shift has occurred, and even with women in the vast majority, only 25 percent of leadership roles are held by women.

These trends point to gender-based inequality that veterinary medicine, a profession that tilts so heavily toward women, is struggling to address. How will the profession respond? What will this mean for our students and schools? What will it mean …
