Endogenous leukotrienes (LT) levels in plasma and urine samples, and LT levels released from stimulated leukocytes in vitro were examined in children with steroid sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS). Plasma LT concentrations were found to be higher in the SSNS group than in healthy subjects. Subjects with SSNS were also shown to have high levels of urinary cysteinyl-LTs and LTB 4 , while healthy children had only urinary LTE 4 levels.
