Congenital fiber type disproportion（CFTD）為一非進行性先天性肌肉病變，須經肌肉切片病理確診，其特點為第一型骨骼肌纖維體積比第二型肌纖維至少小12%。現有文獻提及此疾病之臨床表現變異性大，除肌肉無力，可能併有弓狀顎（High-arched palate）、眼肌麻痺症（Ophthalmoplegia）、呼吸障礙等。患者皆因肌肉無力造成顯著功能障礙。本案例為一10歲確診CFTD男童之長期追蹤與復健介入之描述。患者出生時明顯肌張力不全，自四個月起因生長遲滯、吞嚥功能障礙而接受鼻胃管置入，但診斷未明；後續持續安排物理治療與與語言及吞嚥治療，該患者於一歲八個月時開始走路，三歲時成功移除鼻胃管，並於此時才確診CFTD。患者定期接受完整發展評估，結果顯示明顯動作發展遲緩，其社會心理領域評估結果皆為正常範圍。該患者的肌力與肌耐力隨著年紀增大與物理治療介入而有進步。日常生活能力評估於運動部分仍部分依賴。此外，長期追蹤過程發現該患者有多種肌肉病變之併發症，包括脊柱側彎、雞胸（pectus carinatum）、以及關節與肌肉疼痛。物理治療介入以及教導患者以及家屬運用節省能量之日常生活方式，包括輪椅使用、自我安排活動。本病例報告紀錄CFTD肌病變患者之長期追蹤與復健過程，根據患者之狀況設定個人化復健目標，及處理相關之併發症。

Vision plays a significant role in spatial orientation and posture maintenance; however, a static tilted frame or dynamic rotating visual disturbance can affect orientation and balance. Background: Patients with dysphagia often have difficulties in swallowing liquids. Using thickened liquids is a compensatory strategy frequently recommended by speech－language pathologists to reduce the risk of aspiration in patients with dysphagia . However, the thickening effects might vary with time and different thickening products. Furthermore, the desired viscosity might not be attained. Background: Peak oxygen consumption (Peak VO_2) is a recognized indicator of overall functions of the cardiac-vascular system, and the cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) is considered the golden standard for determining peak VO_2. Objective: This study examines clinical voiding records and urodynamic data to evaluate the therapeutic effects of concomitant botulinum toxin injections to the detrusor and external sphincter for the management of neurogenic bladder dysfunction in patients of spinal cord injury (SCI).Method: SCI patients with neurogenic bladder dysfunction who have both detrusor overactivity and detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia were recruited from a medical center in Central Taiwan. Six patients received concomitant injections of botulinum toxin to the detrusor and external sphincter. Flatfoot is characterized with insufficiency of the medial longitudinal arch and flexible flatfoot is the most predominant type which leads to numerous clinical problems. This study aimed at investigating the plantar pressure distribution in flexible flatfoot patients with platform system and in-shoe system. Nineteen flexible flatfoot patients and fifteen normal subjects were recruited. Foot Function Index (FFI) was used for subjective symptoms report, and higher scores indicated worse clinical condition. Plantar pressure were assessed with Emed-X system and Pedar in-shoe system. Children with cerebral palsy (CP) often exhibit problems with language, speech, and communication. The aim of this study was to examine speech functions and perform an acoustic analysis of speech in children with CP having different levels of proficiency in communication. Objective: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound with that of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for injuries of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of the knee. Materials and Methods: Fifty-one consecutive patients from September 1, 2014 to January 31, 2016 were included. Ultrasound of the knee MCL was performed by physiatrists, and the images were re-read by an experienced sonographer (also a physiatrist). Elastic bandages are often used to secure stroke patients' affected upper limbs to exercise equipment during physical rehabilitation. However, the application of elastic bandages can cause soft tissue injuries in patients' extremities. Therefore, our research team developed novel medical hand gloves, called ＂Yole Hands,＂ to safely secure stroke patients' affected hands to exercise equipment. Objective: The purpose of the study was to use experiential marketing to explore the relationship among physician-patient relationship quality, satisfaction, and loyalty in a department of rehabilitation. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. The study subjects were patients of rehabilitation department recruited from a regional hospital in Northern Taiwan using a convenient sampling strategy. A structured questionnaire was applied for data collection; the valid response rate of 190 distributed questionnaires was 96.31%. Machine crush injury is the most common occupational injury in Taiwan. Machines operated at high pressures and temperatures can cause severe injury to the hands. To improve functional recovery of the hands, pedicled groin flap transfer is recommended. This reconstructive option is useful and versatile for covering hand wounds. The transfer yields predictable results with a procedure that is substantially less difficult and takes less time compared with free-tissue transfer; the disadvantage is that the extremity must be immobilized. In this casereport, we present a pair of siblings, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman, who were both diagnosed as having late-onset Pompe disease. Each underwent cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in 2013 and 2015, respectively. The major finding in these two cases was that enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) over a 24-month period improved or stabilized pulmonary function despite late-onset Pompe disease. CPET revealed improved aerobic capacity in the brother, who was physically active, but deterioration in the sister, who lived a sedentary lifestyle. Background: The etiologies of unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP) could be highly varied. It could be idiopathic or related to surgery, infection, radiation, and tumor. Among these causes of UVFP, surgery-related and idiopathic UVFP were the most well studied. However, the clinical characteristics of tumor-related UVFP have been discussed in only a few studies. Purposes: Patients with stroke often experience neurocognitive impairment; thus, an effective screening test should be developed. The Mini-Mental Status Examination-Chinese (MMSE-C) test and the Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery-Screening (LNNB-S) test are two commonly used tests for assessing cognitive impairment. In Taiwan, few studies have been conducted on the applicability of cognitive assessment tests. Many countries have developed comprehensive developmental motor assessment scale for preschool children (DMASPC). At present, there is no comprehensive gross motor and fine motor assessment scales for preschool children in Taiwan. Complications following cervical manipulation can be classified as cerebrovascular or noncerebrovascular complications. The former complications occur more frequently, and they are usually due to vertebral artery occlusion, damage or thrombus formation.
