Qualitative Evaluation Of Antibiotics Use With Gyssens Method In Sepsis Patients At Fatmawati Central General Hospital Jakarta, Mas Masyrifah, Retnosari Andrajati, Linda Triana Yudhorini

Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research

Sepsis still becomes a major health problem worldwide, with a fairly high mortality rate ranging from 20 to 50%. Antibiotic therapy with rational use can reduce the mortality rate. In contrast, the irrational use of antibiotic therapy will increase the occurrence of resistance, which impacts the increase of morbidity, mortality, and health costs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality in the use of antibiotics using the Gyssens method in patients with sepsis. This study was an observational study with a cross-sectional method conducted at Fatmawati Central General Hospital Jakarta from January to December 2020. The research …

Background: The association between psoriasis and metabolic syndrome is appealing as the two may share a similar cross-linking systemic inflammation process. The inflammation processes occurring in obesity and psoriasis may aggravate one another. This raised the question of whether a low-calorie diet would possibly reverse the aforementioned process. This study aims to determine whether calorie restriction reduces psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) in obese patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis receiving conventional treatment compared to no calorie restriction.
Methods: We searched Pubmed/Pubmed Central, ScienceDirect, Cochrane library, EBSCOhost, and Scopus databases using keywords derived from our clinical question. The inclusion …

Comparison Of Medicaments Used In Regenerative Endodontics In Terms Of Dentin Microhardness And Adhesion Of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate, Esma Saricam, Neslihan Bulak, Esra Özyurt, Suat Özcan

Journal of Dentistry Indonesia

Eliminating microorganisms in the root canal system is important for the success of regenerative endodontics. Objective: This study evaluated the effects of different antibiotic pastes used for regenerative endodontic procedures on dentin microhardness and the push-out bond strength of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) to root canal dentin. Methods: Sixty-four maxillary central incisors were instrumented and randomly divided into the following four groups (n = 16) for medicament treatment: triple antibiotic paste, amoxicillin+clavulanic acid, cefaclor, and control (no dressing). After 21 days, two root segments were obtained by sectioning the roots horizontally for push-out and microhardness evaluations. MTA was placed into …

Jurnal Penyakit Dalam Indonesia

Introduction. Community acquired pneumonia (CAP) now is known as the most common infection presented. Empiric antibiotic administered followed by observing parameters. This study aimed to know how far the American Thoracic Society/ Infectious Disease Society of America (ATS/IDSA) antibiotic guidelines 2007 based treatment influenced the length of stay (LOS) of CAP subject in a private hospital ward between January 2014-August 2015 Methods. A retrospective cohort was conducted with bivariate analysis and multivariate analysis for reducing the confounding factor. Sample taken with proportional sampling formula at ward in a hospital in Jakarta. Results. The result showed that subjects with unproper empiric …
