The presence of psychosocial risk factors at work can lead to negative physical and mental manifestations in workers. So any pathology arising from chronic exposure to these risks, as is the burnout syndrome and its consequences can be sequel thereof. The objective of this research was to analyze the psychosocial risk factors that negatively affect family physicians’ health who work for a public health institution, Guadalajara, Mexico. The study was descriptive, analytical and correlational, in wich 203 physicians were included. In recent years, an increase in diseases and accidents have been reported due to the presence of adverse psychosocial factors in the workplace. The aim was to identify the relationship between job satisfaction and Burnout Syndrome and their differences in male and female junior high school instructors teaching in the formal education system in the metropolitan zone of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. We performed an observational, cross-sectional comparison of 360 teachers. To collect our data, we used three self-report surveys: The General Data and Labor Survey, The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and The Meliá and Peiró Job Satisfaction Survey. We found that 43.7% of the teachers had emotional exhaustion, 17.5% lower realization and 13.3% with depersonalization. There were no differences between men and women …

The aim of this study is to examine working conditions of manufacturing industry workers in order to identify factors such as safety, organizational risk and workers’ perception of their employment relationship, and organizational matters. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted by two questionnaires. First questionnaire was circulated to 24 small, medium and large sized industries, and the second one was filled out by a sample of 329 workers having at least six months of seniority and pertaining to these 24 industries. This work presents an instrument developed by us, that measures the Quality of Life at the workplace in Mexican population, which underwent a process of content, constructo and criterion validation, guaranteeing psychometric properties that ensure an appropriate measuring of the concept in the population studied. The content validation was made by consultation to experts, according to the basic criteria of Moriyama. The constructo validation was carried out by means of factorial analysis and, the Goldberg’s General Health Questionnaire of 28 items was used for the criterion validation as an external criterion. The consequences of work-related stress on health are worrisome, and by the same token, so is Burnout Syndrome. However, it has been shown that social support can prevent, reduce or even combat individuals’ responses to stress. A descriptive, transverse study was carried out with the objective of determining the prevalence of both Burnout Syndrome and receiving social support for traffic police in Mexico. 875 traffic police participated in the study, men and women alike, from all work shifts, day and night.
