Ida Slusher

The purposes of this study were threefold: (a) to describe self-care agency, (b) to describe self-care practice, and (c) to describe the relationship between self-care agency and self-care practice in adolescents. Take The Plunge: Expanding The Float Pool To "Closed" Units, Noel Kerr, Brenda Hardy, Karen Meskimen

Noël M Kerr PhD, RN, CMSRN

Techniques were developed based on nursing staff input to improve floating at a 500-bed trauma center when the practice was expanded to include units that were previously closed. Clarification And Integration Of Similar Quality Of Life Concepts, Barbara K. Haas Dec 1998

Clarification And Integration Of Similar Quality Of Life Concepts, Barbara K. Haas

Barbara Haas

PURPOSE: To identify major problems that obscure understanding of quality of life; to differentiate quality of life from other closely related concepts, and to offer a definition of quality of life. Quality of life is a term frequently used, but seldom defined, in nursing research. Multiple interpretations and measures make evaluating research difficult. The need to clarify concepts, develop nursing theory, and enhance communication is significant. Concept clarification is also essential for research instrument development and evaluation.
