Background The significant proportion of residents reporting poor levels of well-being has appropriately fueled a call for interventions. Yet the specific constructs that impact well-being have not been well researched and validated in the resident population. Mindset (fixed versus growth), impostorism (the belief that one’s success is fraudulent) and irrational beliefs (dysfunctional beliefs that contribute to emotional pain and anguish) are among individual variables postulated to relate to well-being in a high-pressure educational environment. Each of these constructs is amenable to interventions should they have causal relationships to well-being.

Introduction: Mechanisms for the hospital identification of patients with suspected large vessel occlusions (LVO) vary widely based on referring and receiving stroke center resources. We compared processes for identifying patients with suspected LVO who may be candidates for endovascular therapy (EVT) at non-EVT hospitals and the criteria for interfacility transport to Comprehensive Stroke Centers (CSC) for potential EVT. Methods: Data were obtained from 4 CSC which serve distinct geographic regions, ranging from rural to urban environments, over a continuous 12 month period of time beginning year 2018. Juvenile xanthogranulomas (JXG) are a benign histiocytic cell proliferative disorder in early childhood. They most commonly present within the first two years of life with papular or nodular changes to the skin on the head, neck or upper trunk. Xanthogranulomas are mostly self-limiting, can be singular or multiple, and rarely can infer a systemic disease process1. The purpose of this study was to publish a unique finding of an extra-tendinous solitary mass in an otherwise healthy 17-year old, with surgical and medical treatment after diagnosis.

Introduction: Case Report: Galcanezumab is a monoclonal antibody recently approved by the FDA for migraine prevention. Common side effects include injection site reactions, nasopharyngitis, and nausea. However, there have been no reported cases of anaphylaxis.

Description: We describe the first case of galcanezumab-induced anaphylaxis in a 47-year-old female with history of asthma and a prior episode of topiramate-induced anaphylaxis requiring intubation. The patient presented to the emergency department (ED) complaining of sudden onset shortness of breath, generalized pruritus, flushing, throat and mouth swelling 20 minutes after self- administration of two 120 mg doses of galcanezumab IM. As the podiatric profession strives for professional and financial parity with allopathic and osteopathic colleagues, podiatric medical education has been transformed at both undergraduate and graduate levels to more closely align in important ways. The purpose of this program evaluation is to share the benefits of including a women’s health rotation into the required graduate medical training curriculum, share the initial experience of the first resident cohort receiving this training, and provide ideas to other programs that may be interested in providing similar program implementation for their residents.

Atypical spindle cell lipomatous (ASCL) tumors have a distinct histological and clinical presentation, rarely presenting in the foot. With the sub-sesamoidal location of this neoplasm found in our case report being an unusual location for atypical spindle cell lipomatous tumors to present, the purpose of our case report was to present the clinical presentation, histology/pathology, method of resection and outcome of our patient on follow-up to provide a framework for other surgeons on how to approach these neoplasms in the future.

Introduction:

Paralysis secondary to spinal cord ischemia following Endovascular repair of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm is extremely rare complication, the reported incidence in the literature is 0.21%.

Case report:

Our patient is an 85-year old female patient who presented to the emergency department with abdominal pain radiating to the back. Abdominal examination showed mild epigastric tenderness. Laboratory work up was within the normal limits, and she had Computed Tomography Angiography of the abdomen and pelvis which showed impending rupture of 5.8 cm abdominal aortic aneurysm. The anatomic configuration of the AAA fulfilled the requirements for EVAR.

Introduction: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare and biologically aggressive malignancy. The incidence of ACC is between 0.7-2 cases per million, accounting for 0.05-2% of all malignant tumors. Cortisol-producing carcinomas are the most common, with clinical features consistent with hypercortisolism: refractory hypertension, glucose intolerance, and central obesity. We present a case of a 75-year-old male with a cortisol-secreting variant of adrenocortical carcinoma.
