Some Haematological Parameters Of The Rainbow Trouts Experimentallyinfected With Yersinia Ruckeri, Soner Altun, Öznur Di̇ler

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

A haematological study was carried out with rainbow trouts experimentally infected with Yersinia ruckeri. One hundred rainbow trouts ( Oncorhynchus mykiss) at 192±0.24 g were examined. Yersinia ruckeriat a concentration of 3x10 6 cfu/0.1 ml was intraperitoneally (i.p.) injected to 50 animals. The blood samples of infected and control groups were collected from caudal vein in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 days after inoculation. Some haematological parameters: erythrocyte, leucocyte and thrombocyte counts; differential leucocyte types; haematocrit; mean cell volume (MCV), mean cell haemoglobin (MCH), mean cell haemoglobin concentrations (MCHC); haemoglobin, plasma total protein and …

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Growth performances, daily food consumption and feed conversion ratios of rainbow (Onchorynchus mykiss) and brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) reared as single and mixed species were compared. During the experimental period, which lasted for about a growing season (December - June, 217 days), mean % weight increment of single species brook trout group were maximum (from 18.2 to 165.6 g), followed by mixed rainbow (26.8 to 241.6 g) and brook trout (17.0 to 151.8 g), and single species rainbow trout (27.5 to 207.6 g). Rates of increment in biomass were in similar order. Final mean weights of single species brook trout …

Effect Of Smoking Methods On Shelf-Life Of Rainbow Trout (Salmo Gairdneri), Nuray Kolsarici, Özlem Özkaya Jan 1998

Effect Of Smoking Methods On Shelf-Life Of Rainbow Trout (Salmo Gairdneri), Nuray Kolsarici, Özlem Özkaya

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

In this research, the shelf-life of vacuum-packed Rainbow trouts ( Salmo gairdneri) in 80° salinometer for 4 hours and then, treated by cold smoking (for 8 hours at 28°C) and by hot smoking (smoking was carried out in these steps: first, at 30°C for 30 minutes; second, at 50°C for 30 minutes and then, samples were cooked at 80°C for 45 minutes) was determined during the storage periods at +4±1°C and -18±1°C. Trouts stored at +4±1°C were analysed for four -day intervals till they lost their accept-ability and trouts stored at -18±1°C were analysed for one moth intervals for six …
