Asma merupakan penyakit kronis yang dapat mengganggu kualitas hidup. Hingga saat ini, jumlah penderita asma semakin meningkat termasuk di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian asma dan pencetus asma pada anak usia 6 - 14 tahun di Indonesia. Metode penelitian adalah desain potong lintang dengan menggunakan data Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2013 di 33 provinsi di Indonesia. Salah satu indikator kualitas fasilitas kesehatan tingkat primer (FKTP) adalah rendahnya rujukan nonspesialistik. Rujukan nonspesialistik adalah rujukan dari 144 penyakit yang seharusnya dapat diatur di FKTP. Kenyataannya, masih banyak kasus nonspesialistik yang dirujuk ke fasilitas kesehatan sekunder. Penelitian deskriptif dengan metode campuran kuantitatif dan kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola dan penyebab kasus penyakit nonspesialistik yang dirujuk ke fasilitas kesehatan tingkat sekunder di Kota Pekanbaru. Kabupaten Grobogan merupakan kabupaten dengan peningkatan kasus HIV/AIDS cukup tajam dibandingkan kabupaten lain di Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi stigma masyarakat terhadap orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) dan faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian explanatory ini dilakukan melalui pendekatan studi potong lintang dengan sampel berjumlah 300 kepala keluarga yang dipilih menggunakan sampel acak proporsional pada tiga kelurahan dengan kasus HIV tertinggi selama Agustus - September 2014. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara tatap muka menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Background: Cervical cancer places a substantial economic burden on our healthcare system. The three-dose human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine series is a cost-effective intervention to prevent HPV infection and resultant cervical cancer. Despite its efficacy, completion rates are low in young women aged 18 through 26 years. 1-2-3 Pap is a video intervention tested and proven to increase HPV vaccination completion rates.

Colonoscopy screening reduces colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence and mortality. CRC screening is recommended at age 50 for average-risk people. Screening of first-degree relatives of CRC patients is recommended to begin at age 40 or 10 years before the age at diagnosis of the youngest relative diagnosed with CRC. CRC incidence has increased recently among younger Americans while it has declined among older Americans. The objective of this study was to determine whether first-degree relatives of CRC patients are being screened according to recommended guidelines.

This descriptive correlational study examined the relationships among perceived stress, birth satisfaction, and breastfeeding self-efficacy in women in the early postpartum period. The study, guided by self-efficacy and stress and coping theories, aimed to identify factors related to breastfeeding self-efficacy, an important psychological variable in sustained breastfeeding. The sample (N =107) was comprised of primarily well-educated, higher income, non-Hispanic White (69.8%) women recruited from a single New Jersey hospital in the first four days postpartum. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceived loneliness and physical health among college freshmen at James Madison University using a Qualtrics survey. The relationship between loneliness and health was assessed using the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS) to gauge physical health and the UCLA Loneliness Survey (UCLA-LS) to gauge perceived loneliness. Studies in Pseudomonas aeruginosa have suggested that the TonB energy transduction system directly contributes to efflux-mediated antibiotic resistance, ostensibly by energizing one or more efflux systems. We have found ∆tonB strains of Escherichia coli to similarly be more sensitive to certain antibiotics relative to wild-type strains. To test the hypothesis that this enhanced sensitivity involved the energization of efflux systems, sensitivity patterns for a variety of antibiotics were evaluated using a set of strains differentially lacking genes encoding the Acr efflux system, the universal outer membrane efflux portal TolC, and TonB. Objective. The primary aim was to assess African American college student's knowledge of oral health and healthcare access.

Methods. The project was a quantitative descriptive study using a pre and posttest design. A pre questionnaire containing items regarding oral hygiene and oral health based on the recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA) as well as questions about access to oral healthcare was distributed to African American college students to measure their knowledge. A demographic questionnaire was distributed. Students participated in a 20-30 minute oral health educational program. A post-test was given 4-6 weeks after the initial pre-test.
