Curricula for Registered Nurse to Baccalaureate (RN to BSN) programs need to enhance nurse’s scope of practice, critical reasoning, and analytical skills. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how one RN to BSN program innovatively integrated clinical experiences into the curriculum.  Students enrolled in the RN to BSN program were required to complete 40 hours of an on-site practice experience that integrated classroom learning with direct clinical experiences incorporated into the Capstone course.

Purpose: To determine the association between adult tobacco/nicotine product use over time and residence location (urban, suburban, town, rural), controlling for demographics.

Methods: Data from Waves 4–7 (2016–2023) of the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) study (N = 18,590 adults) were analyzed using survey-weighted logistic regression to evaluate location and time differences in likelihoods of current, daily, and established use of combustible tobacco, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), smokeless products, and poly use (≥2 products).

Background: Mental illnesses remain among the most prevalent health conditions in the United States, affecting approximately 23% or nearly one in five adults in 2025 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2025); National Institute of Mental Health [NIMH], 2024a). Abstract

Problem: Burnout among nurses, especially in psychiatric mental health units, significantly impacts both their well-being and the quality of patient care. Despite its severity, with approximately 30% of nurses worldwide affected and contributing to a 31.5% nurse turnover rate (Ge et al., 2023), there are limited formal guidelines specifically targeting nurse burnout prevention in the mental health setting. The issue is particularly acute in the United States, where 91.1% of psychiatric nurses report experiencing burnout, compared to 79.9% of other healthcare professionals (Anger et al., 2024). Introduction:

Iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia in children aged 12 to 18 months are prevalent conditions that, if not identified and treated early, are associated with adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Purpose:

This quality improvement project evaluated the impact of a standardized screening and follow-up protocol on laboratory result retrieval, provider review, and caregiver follow-through in a military pediatric clinic.

Method:

A pre-post intervention design guided by the Plan-Do-Study-Act framework was implemented over 11 weeks and included staff education, standardized workflows, and caregiver outreach.

Caregiver training (CaGi TRaining) is a time-tested intervention aimed at improving safety in elders living and aging in place in the community. While elder abuse and maltreatment was the intial purpose of the project, with over 3500 Caregivers graduated from this program since 2009, the course has addresses social determinants of health, and improved workforce pipelines by providing stable employment, improved self-efficacy, and confidence demonstrated by self-reports at graduation and in follow up surveys. Purpose

The goal of this quality improvement project was to utilize the SKINSAFE pressure injury prevention bundle during 12 weeks of implementation to increase evidence-based pressure injury prevention practices adherence and decrease risk of hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) in the intensive care units (ICU).

Background

ICU patients experience high risk for hospital acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) secondary to immobility and device related pressure. Initial adherence to SKINSAFE bundle was 55-56%. Purpose: This quality improvement (QI) project evaluated the effectiveness of a telehealth-enabled post-discharge follow-up program in improving patient satisfaction among adult medical–surgical patients discharged following arteriovenous (AV) fistula placement.

Background: Ineffective communication during transitional care contributes to poor patient understanding, decreased confidence in self-management, and lower patient satisfaction. Internal organizational data identified a baseline satisfaction rate of 55%, demonstrating the need for a structured post-discharge intervention.

Black women experience disproportionately high rates of maternal morbidity and mortality, making it essential to examine access to and the perceived impact of doula support. This study examines whether socioeconomic status influences access to and the perceived benefits of doula support among Black women who experienced severe maternal morbidity (SMM). Researchers surveyed Black women ages 18-49 who had a live birth within the past two years and experienced SMM. Participants were recruited and completed an online survey in late 2020. วัตถุประสงค์ : เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงต่อความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแล หอผู้ป่วยเด็ก โรงพยาบาลศิครินทร์ กรุงเทพมหานคร

แบบแผนงานวิจัย : การวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง แบบศึกษาสองกลุ่มวัดครั้งเดียว

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย : กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้ดูแลอายุ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ที่รับผิดชอบดูแลผู้ป่วยเด็กที่มีอาการสำคัญในการมาโรงพยาบาลด้วยมีไข้สูง อุณหภูมิกายมากกว่า 38.5 องศาเซลเซียส ซึ่งเป็นอุณหภูมิแรกรับที่รับผู้ป่วยเข้ารับการรักษาตัวในหอผู้ป่วยเด็ก แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง และกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 24 คน กลุ่มทดลองได้รับโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงตามแนวคิดการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้ดูแลร่วมกับการทบทวนวรรณกรรม กลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไปของผู้ดูแลและของเด็กที่มีไข้สูง แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลต่อการพยาบาลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง โดยผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 3 คน มีค่าดัชนีความตรงตามเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 1 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา และสถิติทดสอบที

ผลการวิจัย : ค่าเฉลี่ยความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลระหว่างกลุ่มที่ได้รับโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง สูงกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 (t = 5.182)

สรุป : โปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง ส่งผลให้ผู้ดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงเกิดความพึงพอใจสูงขึ้น ผู้บริหารการพยาบาล ควรนำโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงนี้ไปอบรมพยาบาลเด็ก เพื่อนำไปสอนญาติหรือผู้ดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

รูปแบบการวิจัย: การวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง (Quasi-experimental research design) แบบ 2 กลุ่ม

วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย: การวิจัยนี้เก็บข้อมูลในระหว่างวันที่ 1 กุมภาพันธ์ ถึง 30 เมษายน 2567  ในผู้ที่เตรียมตัวก่อนส่องกล้องลำไส้ใหญ่ครั้งแรก ณ หอผู้ป่วยนอก แผนกโรคทางเดินอาหารและตับ โรงพยาบาลเอกชน ที่อายุตั้งแต่ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ทั้งเพศชายและเพศหญิง จำนวน 50 คน แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 25 คน โดยจับคู่กลุ่มตัวอย่างให้มีคุณสมบัติใกล้เคียงกันด้วย อายุและโรค กลุ่มทดลองได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมการจัดการตนเองโดยการให้ข้อมูลอย่างมีแบบแผน ส่วนกลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล 3 ชุด ได้แก่ 1) ข้อมูลทั่วไปส่วนบุคคล 2) แบบประเมินสะอาดของลำไส้ 3) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจบริการพยาบาลของผู้ป่วยนอก สัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคได้ 0.8 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา และ Mann Whitney U test โดยกำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .05

ผลการวิจัย: หลังสิ้นสุดโปรแกรม กลุ่มทดลองมีความสะอาดของลำไส้ใหญ่ดีกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความพึงพอใจการบริการพยาบาลดีกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

สรุป: โปรแกรมส่งเสริมการจัดการตนเองโดยการให้ข้อมูลอย่างมีแบบแผน ตามแนวคิดทฤษฎีการจัดการตนเอง Creer (2000) ทำให้ผู้ที่เตรียมตัวก่อนส่องกล้องลำไส้ใหญ่ครั้งแรกมีความรู้ และสามารถในการจัดการตนเองได้  เพื่อความสะอาดของลำไส้ใหญ่และความพึงพอใจการบริการพยาบาลได้
