The intent of this project was to examine the potential knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSA) gap of practicing bedside registered nurse (RN) care providers regarding the quality and safety education for nurses (QSEN) core competencies. Evaluating The Impact Of Two Different Methods Of Diabetes Self-Management Education On Knowledge, Attitude, And Behaviours Of Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Laura B. Briden

This study compared the effectiveness of diabetes self-management education (DSME) methods by examining changes in knowledge, attitude, and behaviour (KAB) after receiving education. Participants from a convenience sample were randomized into two groups, one receiving education through conversation maps and the other through traditional group education. Participants’ knowledge and attitude changes were measured by using a repeated measures pre-test/post-test design and changes in Hb A1c were observed. Focus groups were conducted after education was received to obtain perceptions and self-reported behaviour changes. Assessment Of Knowledge, Skill And Attitude Of Oncology Nurses In Chemotherapy Administration In Tertiary Hospital Pakistan., Najma Khan, Khurshid Zulfiqar Ali Khowaja, Tazeen Saeed Ali

Objective:

To measure the levels of nurse’s knowledge and attitude after the conduct of education session regarding chemotherapy administration and management.

Methodology:

This research study was conducted at two oncology units of tertiary Hospital Rawalpindi. A prepost test intervention study design was used on 35 nurses by using Verity’s tools.

Results:

The mean scores of knowledge were calculated by Cochran’s Q test showed that knowledge scores have significantly increased with ‘educational training’ (p value < 0.001). The difference in the attitude of the nurses was not found to be statistically significant in repeated measure of ANOVA.

Conclusion:

The results show that knowledge is the weakest component and attitude is strongest component of oncology nurses ‘competencies in chemotherapy administration.

Effective pain management requires appropriate knowledge, attitudes, and assessment skills. The purposes of this study were to obtain information about the knowledge and attitudes of oncology nurses related to cancer pain and its management, to evaluate oncology nurses' cultural competence, and to investigate relationships between oncology nurses' cultural competence and their pain management knowledge and attitudes. The hospice philosophy is based on pain and symptom management, comfort measures, and enhancement of quality of life at end-of-life (EOL). Pain management at EOL requires advanced knowledge and understanding by the healthcare team caring for these patients. Purpose/Objectives: To establish initial reliability and validity of a Web-based survey focused on oncology advanced practice nurses' (APNs') knowledge, attitudes, and practice behaviors regarding advanced care planning, and to obtain preliminary understanding of APNs' knowledge, attitudes, and practice behaviors and perceived barriers to advanced care planning.

The purpose of this study was to examine parental perceptions related to the care and management of children with Type 1 diabetes at school. Parents of elementary and middle school-age children with Type 1 diabetes completed a survey questionnaire, which included one open-ended question. The questionnaire was developed by the researchers based on original questionnaires by Nabors, Lehmkuhl, Christos, and Andreone (2003) and Lewis, Powers, Goodenough and Poth (2003 ). การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงความรู้และเจตคติของนักเรียนภายหลัง การให้ความรู้และประสบการณ์เกี่ยวกับพิษภัยของบุหรี่ เพื่อส่งเสริมให้มีความรู้และเจตคติในการป้องกันตนเอง จากบุหรี่ กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 โรงเรียนท่าศาลาประสิทธิ์ศึกษา ปีการศึกษา 2541 ทั้งหญิงและชาย จำนวน 474 คน แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มทดลองจำนวน 269 และ 205 คนตามลำดับ กิจกรรมการให้ความรู้ประกอบด้วยการชมวิดีทัศน์ กิจกรรมเกมส์นักข่าว กิจกรรมบทบาทสมมุติเรื่องการปฏิเสธบุหรี่ และกิจกรรมการทดลองทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ประเมินผลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามความรู้และเจตคติ ผลการวิจัยพบว่ากลุ่มทดลองมีค่าความรู้และเจตคติสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ \nหลังการประเมินผล ครั้งที่ 1 และกลุ่มทดลองมีค่าความรู้สูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ หลังการติดตามผล 1 ปี ส่วนเจตคติไม่แตกต่างกัน
