Background: Older adults with cognitive impairment (CI) are more likely to visit the emergency department (ED) than those without CI. They are also more likely to suffer poor outcomes after an ED visit. Family and friends who serve as care partners contribute significant time and resources to the care of these patients and may need particular attention to their emotional needs during and after the ED encounter. In this study, we examined the association between patient and care partner characteristics on care partner depression and anxiety at the time of the ED visit.

Aims: To synthesise and evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) interventions compared to standard care to reduce pre-operative anxiety in adult surgical patients during the pre-operative period.

Design: Systematic review of effectiveness and meta-analysis.

Data sources: MEDLINE, EMBASE, JBI EBP, PUBMED, CINAHL, SCOPUS, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, EMCARE, World Health Organisation, WEB OF SCIENCE, Grey Literature, National Institute of Health & Care Excellence were searched with limits between 2010 to 2022.

Depression and anxiety are common events in 30-40 percent of post coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery patients. Depression symptoms in patients with CAD are expected to be significantly more, comparing the public incidence rate. According to recent studies, including Monson et all, JACM, 2019, there is growing evidence for the effective and safe use of acupressure as a non-pharmacological approach to reducing pain and anxiety. Acupressure can quiet the mind, promoting a sense of well-being by decreasing anxiety.

A collaborative retrospective analysis of self-rated pain and anxiety scores before and immediately after administration of a stress release protocol indicate that acupressure is a highly satisfactory complementary therapy. Results were clinically significant for a decrease in self-rated pain and anxiety scores.

Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new strain that was never recognized in humans before. It was discovered in 2019 and its common signs include fever, respiratory symptoms; cough and dyspnea.

Aim of the Work: To investigate whether there are any psychiatric symptoms in patient who got COVID-19 infection or not.
