Ulcerative colitis (UC) poses significant challenges during pregnancy, affecting both physical and mental health. While the physiological effects of UC during pregnancy are well documented, less is known about its impact on maternal mental health. This study aims to investigate the psychological effects of UC on pregnant women, focusing on stress levels, postpartum depression (PPD) incidence, and the role of multidisciplinary care in improving mental health outcomes.

Despite growing diversity in the U.S. population, Black women remain underrepresented in healthcare leadership roles. Barriers including limited access to mentorship, systemic bias, and financial constraints, contribute to disparities in career advancement. This research examines the role of culturally competent mentorship programs in addressing these barriers and fostering a diverse healthcare workforce. Drawing from peer-reviewed literature, workforce development models, and Critical Race Theory, this review highlights the impact of mentorship on professional retention, leadership development, and the quality of healthcare delivery in marginalized communities. This study examines how the structure of the 2023-2024 interview season influenced family medicine residency program directors' intentions for future interview formats and their preferences regarding the number of preference signals.

Abstract

Introduction

Despite the recommendations of the United States Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, HPV immunization lags behind other routine vaccines by up to 31%. Although there are many reasons for the low vaccine rate, provider hesitancy and lack of confidence significantly contribute to suboptimal HPV vaccine uptake.

Objectives

This project aimed to utilize evidence-driven interventions to increase family nurse practitioners' (FNPs) knowledge and confidence in offering the HPV vaccine.

Methods

Participants were given pre- and post-questionnaire surveys. The Wilcoxon Rank Test was used to compare, quantify, and measure the results of the eight-week data collection.

Objective: Most speech language pathologists (SLPs) receive training to work with patients with swallowing disorders in graduate school, focusing primarily on adult dysphagia. Although SLPs share common foundational knowledge and skills for adult and pediatric dysphagia populations, there are considerable differences in these two specialized areas of practice. Immersive clinical experiences (ICEs) were integrated into athletic training education to enhance student learning. However, their structure and effect remain poorly understood.

Objective

To highlight the lack of research on ICEs and the need for data-driven improvements in athletic training education.

Background

Since the transition to graduate-level education, ICEs have been required to provide students with uninterrupted exposure to professional practice. Despite this requirement, little evidence exists regarding their effectiveness or best implementation practices.

Purpose. Healthcare students may lack the knowledge and confidence to apply research. This study evaluated the impact of immersion in student-academic co-creation and evaluation of a gamified resource on healthcare students’ research knowledge, and confidence.

Method. A qualitative descriptive design was utilised. Student partners contributed to all aspects of design, implementation, and evaluation of the game. Students’ perceptions of this process were evaluated via a group interview and thematic analysis.

Using a classical Delphi design, the authors used an interdisciplinary panel of behavioral health experts in integrated behavioral health (IBH) to identify foundational skills and knowledge counselor educators need to teach clinical mental health counselors for IBH practice. Eighty-eight statements were identified. Implications are provided for counseling and other behavioral health educators.
