The Indian Health Service (IHS), recognizing that state Medicaid programs are rapidly purchasing managed care plans for their beneficiaries and that managed care enrollment has significant implications for both Indians and Indian health facilities, convened this Roundtable to discuss options for participation in such care. The purpose of this roundtable was to identify options to increase Medicaid managed care participation by Indian health programs. These include programs operated directly by IHS, programs operated by tribes under the Indian Self-Determination Act, and urban Indian programs under Title V of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act.By design, Roundtable participants were a group …

Quality Of Family Planning Programme In India: A Review Of Public And Private Sector, Dileep V. Mavalankar

Increasing attention has been paid to quality of care (QOC) in family planning (FP) during the last few years, and there have been several initiatives to strengthen QOC in FP in the developing world. This paper reviews the quality of the FP program in India’s public and private sectors, and examines six elements: choice of methods, information given to clients, technical competence, interpersonal relations, continuity of care and follow-up, and appropriate constellation of services. Overall, the paper finds that not much attention has been paid to QOC and hence the level is quite low. Evidence and observations indicate that QOC …

This thesis will focus on a historical view of cultural diversity. It will include a comprehensive overview of cultural diversity, discrimination, racism and reverse discrimination. This will include well known authors and spokespersons on the subject matter and the effects in the workplace.
People in the workforce have noted numerous concerns regarding racism, discrimination and the need for cultural diversity.

This thesis will focus on the evolution of the health care system in the United States and how changes from multiple sources have impacted upon it. The manner in which some health care institutions have responded to those changes will also be explored.
The current health care system under which we operate has undergone some tremendous changes that have affected its development. In general, those changes include: scientific breakthroughs, implementation of governmentally-imposed policies, changes in the economy and transformations in personal lifestyles.
