A method for imbedding a dental implant includes the initial step of casting a model of the patient's jaw and teeth in the vicinity of the implant site. A pilot hole is drilled in the implant site of the model, correlating to the ideal angle and location of the implant in the patient's jaw. A guide rod is provided for forming a guide hole in a stent, with a generally cylindrical shaft and a screw portion mounted at the lower end of the shaft. Liposomes that destabilize at mildly acidic pH are efficient tools for delivering water-soluble drugs into the cell cytoplasm. However, their use in vivo is limited because of their rapid uptake from circulation by the reticuloendothelial system. Lipid-anchored polyethylene glycol (PEG-PE) prolongs the circulation time of liposomes by steric stabilization. We have found that addition of PEG-PE to the membrane of pH-sensitive liposomes composed of cholesteryl hemisuccinate (CHEMS) and dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE) confers steric stability to these vesicles. This modification significantly decreases the pH-dependent release of a charged water-soluble fluorophore, calcein, from liposomes suspended in buffer or cell culture medium. However, the …

During embryogenesis, cells of pharyngeal arches (branchial arches) contribute to the formation of orofacial structures, including structures of pharynx and larynx. The fate of these cells in pharyngeal arches has already been destined before they migrate from their origin to the areas of pharyngeal arch. Based on results from Drosophila in which special groups of gene regulte the body pattern in chronological manner, it has been suggested that similar mechanism may also take place during vertebrate development.
