การพัฒนาวัสดุไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตที่ผลิตในประเทศไทยสำหรับใช้ในงานไวทัลพัลพ์เทอราพี, สลิลลา ลิขิตปรีดา

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพและทางเคมีของวัสดุปิดทับเนื้อเยื่อในไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตที่ผลิตจากเปลือกหอยแครง และเถ้าแกลบ (C-Cap) C-Cap ผลิตมาจากเปลือกหอยแครงและเถ้าแกลบ ร่วมกับมีการเติมสารเติมแต่งอื่นๆ C-Cap ประกอบด้วย 2 ส่วน ได้แก่ ส่วนผงและส่วนเหลว ส่วนผงประกอบด้วยผงไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตจากเปลือกหอยแครง เซอร์โคเนียมซิลิเกต และซิลิกอนไดออกไซด์ ส่วนเหลวประกอบด้วย เมทิลซาลิไซเลต และเอ็น-บิวทิล เบนซีน ซัลโฟนาไมด์ ในการศึกษานี้เลือกใช้วัสดุปิดทับเนื้อเยื่อในแคลเซียมไฮดรอกไซด์ที่มีจำหน่ายในปัจจุบัน ได้แก่ ยี่ห้อ Life และ Dycal® เพื่อนำมาศึกษาเปรียบเทียบคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพและทางเคมีกับ C-Cap การศึกษาคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพ ได้แก่ ระยะเวลาการแข็งตัว การไหลแผ่ การละลายตัว ความทึบรังสี อ้างอิงวิธีการและดัดแปลงมาจาก ไอเอสโอ 6876:2012 ศึกษาการปลดปล่อยแคลเซียมอิออนและความเป็นกรดด่างที่ระยะเวลาต่าง ๆ ภายหลังจาก C-Cap แข็งตัว ทำการตรวจคุณลักษณะเฉพาะของ C-Cap เมื่อสัมผัสกับน้ำ ด้วยเทคนิคการเลี้ยวเบนของรังสีเอ็กซ์และเทคนิคฟูเรียร์ทรานสฟอร์มอินฟราเรดสเปกโทรสโกปี ผลการศึกษาพบว่า C-Cap Dycal® และ Life มีระยะเวลาการแข็งตัวของวัสดุอยู่ในช่วง 1-2 นาที C-Cap มีการไหลแผ่สูงที่สุด การละลายตัวของวัสดุทั้ง 3 ชนิดไม่แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ความทึบรังสีของ Dycal® Life และ C-Cap มีค่าเทียบเท่ากับ 2.87, 2.60, 2.43 มิลลิเมตรของอะลูมินัมตามลำดับ วัสดุทุกชนิดมีคุณสมบัติเป็นด่าง โดยพบว่า C-Cap มีความเป็นกรดด่างสูงที่สุดอยู่ในช่วง 9.9-10.5 และสามารถปลดปล่อยแคลเซียมอิออนสูงสุดเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับวัสดุประเภทแคลเซียมไฮดรอกไซด์ ผลการวิเคราะห์ด้วยเทคนิคการเลี้ยวเบนของรังสีเอ็กซ์และเทคนิคฟูเรียร์ทรานสฟอร์มอินฟราเรดสเปกโทรสโกปี พบว่า C-Cap ที่สัมผัสกับน้ำจะพบแคลเซียมไฮดรอกไซด์ ซึ่งเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ของไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตที่เกิดปฏิกริยาไฮเดรชัน

Purpose: to evaluate the fracture resistance and observe fracture mode of endodontically treated teeth restored with different post systems and fabrication techniques. Materials and Methods: Forty selected human mandibular premolars were divided into 4 groups (n=10) according to restoration after endodontic treatment: restored with prefabricated D.T. Light-Post (Group PDT), restored with D.T. Light-Post, relined with resin composite (Group ADT), restored with prefabricated Hi-Rem post (Group PHR), and restored with Hi-Rem post, relined with resin composite (Group AHR). Purpose: To assess the prevalence and course of mandibular incisive canal in Thai population using cone-beam computed tomography. 149 CBCT images of the mandibles were obtained from 78 males (52.3%) and 71 females (47.7%) age ranged between 21 and 73 years. For the CBCT scan, the standard i-CAT settings were used. A digital ruler was incorporated into the viewing software for the purpose of taking measurements. Double measurements and observations were conducted by a single observer. Result: The mandibular incisive canal was identified in 90.60% of all the subject, 67 (85.89%) in males and 68 (95.77%) in females. The mean …

Objective: To evaluate the effect of scaling procedures using different ultrasonic tips on the surface roughness, color stability and bacterial accumulation of lithium disilicate ceramic. Material and Methods: Scaling procedure was carried out using ultrasonic scaler (Satalec, Acteon, North America) with stainless-steel tip (US), titanium tip (UT) and plastic tip (UP), on disc shaped lithium disilicate samples cemented into a cavity prepared onto the labial surface of freshly extracted bovine teeth (10 samples per group). The Effect Of Different Drilling Protocols On Bone Healing Around Dental Implants., Sara Fikry, Amr Amin Ghanim, Hisham El Sheikh, Omar El Sergany

Materials and Methods: 20 patients with kennedy class III modification 1 edentulous areas were recruited for this study and divided into two groups; Control group received implants with conventional osteotomy preparation following standard drilling protocol (speed= 1200 rpm) with torque of 30N and sufficient saline irrigation, while Study group received implants with osteotomy preparation following a low speed drilling protocol (speed < 200 rpm) without irrigation and a torque of 50 N. Cone Beam CT was used to evaluate bone height and density around the implants at 3, 6 and 12 months after insertion. Implant primary stability was evaluated using Ostell by Resonance Frequency Analysis. Results The results showed no significant difference between bone height changes and densities in the control and study groups. Implants primary stability also showed no significant difference in ISQ values between both groups. Conclusion Biologic drilling is a promising implant drilling protocol with a potential to insert implants showing successful osseointegration and acceptable bone changes.

This study evaluated the effect of pre-heating a dual-polymerized adhesive and a dual-polymerized core build-up resin composite on their dentin micro-shear bond strength (mSBS), degree of conversion (DC%) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS). For mSBS, 45 human molars were divided into 9 groups (n ¼ 5) according to two factors: (1) Adhesive temperature (25 C/32 C/40 C) and 2- Resin composite temperature (25 C/32 C/40 C). Objective: To evaluate the accuracy and repeatability of intraoral instruments used for shade determination compared to visual shade selection (VSS). Materials and Methods: A total of 20 subjects and 10 observers, balanced by gender, participated in the study. Observers performed VSS of the upper right central incisor from each subject. Instrumental shade determination of the same teeth was performed using a spectrophotometer (Easyshade V) and intraoral scanners (CEREC Omnicam, Primescan, Trios 3 and Trios 4). Aim: to evaluate the postoperative pain of using Propolis versus Calcium hydrox- ide as intracanal medications on post-operative pain in necrotic teeth. Subjects and Methods: 40 patients requiring endodontic treatment for single rooted teeth were en- rolled in this analysis. BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a substantial burden on dental care professionals. While dentistry is known as one of the most exposed and high-risk professions, dental care professionals are indeed at even greater risk.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to assess knowledge, attitudes, occupational health practices, personal protective equipment usage, and mental stressors during COVID-19 pandemic among dental care professionals.

The mechanisms through which a persistent recognition of commensal bacteria by oral epithelial cells (OECs) mitigates an uncontrolled inflammatory response of the oral mucosa remain unknown. CCL20 secretion by OECs in response to pathogenic bacteria is regulated by S. gordonii (Sg)-induced miR-663a; nevertheless, the mechanisms involved in these Sg-modulated responses remain to be elucidated. Since Sg is a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) producer, and H2O2 has been shown to stimulate miRNA expression, we hypothesized that H2O2 could be involved in Sg-induced miR663a and CCL20 responses. Associations between rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of the joints, and periodontitis (PD), a chronic inflammatory disease affecting tooth supporting tissues have been reported. Antimicrobial peptide cathelicidin LL-37 besides being antibacterial, is also involved in inflammatory process. It has been suggested as a possible mechanistic link for these diseases. This study aimed to investigate the subgingival microbial profile of RA subjects and its correlation with levels of salivary and serum LL-37. Objective: The primary objective of this study is to evaluate pre and posttreatment lateral cephalometric radiographs on patients treated with Invisalign by the same orthodontist where lower incisor intrusion was prescribed and to determine the amount of true lower incisor intrusion achieved during treatment. Methods: This retrospective case series study included 48 patients with an overbite exceeding 2mm, who were treated with Invisalign clear aligner therapy, and whose Clincheck treatment plan included lower incisor intrusion.
