Purpose: To evaluate the effect of remineralization and resin infiltration on microhardness, mineral content and microleakage in artificially-induced cervical enamel lesions. Grade C molar-incisor pattern periodontitis (C-MIP) is the latest in a series of names given to a unique phenotype, characterized by an aggressive and rapid loss of tooth-supporting structures, starting early in life and usually affecting first molars and incisors. Although much less prevalent than the more generalized “chronic” forms of this disease in adults, it affects mostly young individuals of lower socioeconomic status and African descent, or from mixed-race populations, and shows a strong familial aggregation, pointing to a possible genetic contribution, yet not fully elucidated. In the current U.S. educational system, becoming a dentist follows a few prescriptive pathways.  Learners typically complete an undergraduate degree before entering time-intensive doctoral training.  This results in only 3-4 years of direct professional education embedded within an eight -year process, while learners accumulate significant financial investment in their education.  With the average cost of graduate-level dental education alone exceeding $300,000 and new federal borrowing limits likely to further constrain access, there is an opportunity to explore alternative ways of structuring oral health education.

Background: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence, distribution, and follow-up recommendations of incidental findings in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans acquired for endodontic treatment.

Methods: This was a retrospective review of limited field-of-view (FOV) CBCT images for endodontic evaluation obtained at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine between 2018 and 2022. All scans were reviewed by 1 oral and maxillofacial radiology (OMR) resident and all incidental findings were corroborated with the radiology report approved by 1 of 2 board-certified OMRs. Limited research has examined how dental students perceive professionalism and how these perceptions shape their developing professional identities. Objective: This study intended to evaluate changes, clinically and radiographically, associated with the immediate placement of dental implants in the maxillary anterior esthetic zone, comparing vestibular socket therapy with the ice cream cone technique. Materials and Methods: The current research included sixteen individuals requiring the replacement of a non-restorable tooth in the maxillary anterior aesthetic zone with an implant. Aim: The objective of this research was to investigate how ZnO nanoparticles and artificial saliva influence the frictional resistance in self-ligating ceramic orthodontic brackets while performing sliding mechanics Materials & Methods : A total of sixty maxillary canine brackets were divided into three groups: uncoated self-ligating ceramic brackets, ZnO-coated brackets, and ZnOcoated brackets tested under artificial saliva. The friction produced by sliding was measured using a universal testing machine with a 0.019 × 0.025-inch stainless-steel archwire.
