Nanoparticles In Dentistry: A Review, Pallavi Nambiar, Priyanka Paul Madhu, Amit Reche, Shambhavi Subodh Moharil
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
Nanotechnology finds frequent application in everyday life, particularly in the field of medicine. Due to the capabilities of nanotechnology, examining and manipulating atoms, chemical bonds , and molecules between substances is a relatively straightforward task. When applied in the field of dentistry it is referred to as “nano dentistry”. Nanoparticles which are believed to possess superior efficacy, find significant usage in dentistry, primarily in the prevention and treatment of oral disorders, as well as the maintenance of good oral health and hygiene. Nanoparticles possess distinct characteristics such as their surface to volume ratio, antimicrobial activity, physical, mechanical and biological properties, …

Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst – A Three-Dimensional Radiological Evaluation By Cone Beam Computed Tomography, Karthik Rajaram Mohan, Saramma Mathew Fenn, Ramachandra Reddy Venkatesha
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
Calcifying odontogenic cysts is an odontogenic cyst that gives rise to painless swelling which expand and occasionally perforate bone. Most of them are between 2 to 4 cm in diameter. Approximately 75% occur in anterior canine-incisor region. The highest incidence of occurrence is between 10 and 29 years. Radiographically they appear as well-circumscribed, unilocular cystlike areas with scattered radiopacities which range from mere flecks to large masses. The related tooth usually gets displaced. Radiopaque flecks occur in radiographic features of some lesions which undergo osteolysis during their development. They occur as a result of dystrophic calcifications in long standing chronic …
