ความมุ่งหมายของการทดลองนี้ เพื่อศึกษาผลการระงับการเกิดกรดในแบคทีเรีย ของยาอมบ้วนปากโซเดียมฟลูออไรด์ 0.05 เปอร์เซ็นต์ น้ำยาบ้วนปากลิสเตอรีน น้ำยาบ้วนปากสเปเชียล และน้ำยาบ้วนปาก คลอเฮกซิดีนกลูโคเนต 0.2 เปอร์เซ็นต์ โดยนําน้ำยาบ้วนปากแต่ละชนิดในปริมาตร 0.5 มิลลิลิตร มาทดลองกับแบคทีเรียสเทรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์ ดูผลการเกิดกรด โดยการวัด pH ที่ชั่วโมงที่ 1, 3, 6 และ 24 ตามลําดับ พบว่าผลการทดลองยาบ้วนปากคลอเฮกซิดีนกลูโคเนตเท่านั้นที่สามารถระงับการสร้างกรดของสเตรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์ ทั้งที่ทดลองกับยาบ้วนปากคลอเฮกซิดีนอย่างเดียว และยาบ้วนปากที่มี 0.5 กรัม ซูโครส และการออกฤทธิ์นั้นนานเกิน 24 ชั่วโมง

คอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอน เป็นสื่อการศึกษาซึ่งช่วยในการสอนทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์สําหรับนิสิตทันตแพทย์ ชั้นปีที่สอง ช่วยเสริมให้ผู้เรียนเข้าใจบทเรียนได้ดียิ่งขึ้น การศึกษาวิชาทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ด้วยการบรรยาย เพียงอย่างเดียวไม่น่าสนใจ ผู้เรียนค่อนข้างเบื่อและขาดความกระตือรือล้น เนื่องจากเนื้อหาวิชามีรายละเอียดมาก ดังนั้นคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนจะช่วยให้นิสิตสามารถเรียนรู้และทบทวนได้ด้วยตนเองและศึกษาเป็นกลุ่ม โดยปฏิบัติตามคู่มือการใช้ จากแบบสอบถามของนิสิตชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ได้ใช้บทเรียนนี้จํานวน 73 คน ร้อยละ 95.5 พอใจโปรแกรมนี้ เนื่องจากช่วยในการศึกษาด้วยตนเองและประหยัดเวลา ร้อยละ 77.4 ต้องการให้มีบทเรียนลักษณะเดียวกันนี้ ในวิชาอื่น ๆ

ในการทดลองเพื่อศึกษาการยับยั้งการเกิดกรดของสเทรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์กับน้ำตาลที่เป็นส่วน ประกอบของยาอม 6 ชนิด ที่มียาระงับเชื้อ โดยนํายาอมมาเพาะกับเชื้อสเตรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์ แล้ววัด pH ในชั่วโมงที่ 1, 3, 6 และ 24 ตามลําดับ เปรียบเทียบระหว่างกลุ่มควบคุมที่มีแบคทีเรียอย่างเดียวและกลุ่มควบคุมที่มีน้ำตาลกับกลุ่มทดลองที่มียาอมอย่างเดียว และกลุ่มทดลองที่มียาอมและน้ำตาล พบว่ามี pH ลดลง ชัดเจนในชั่วโมงที่ 3 โดยที่กลุ่มควบคุมจะมี pH ต่ำกว่ากลุ่มทดลอง นอกจากพวกที่มียาระงับเชื้อเป็น amyl meta cresol ซึ่งกลุ่มทดลองมี pH ต่ำกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม ซึ่งอาจเป็นเพราะเหตุ 2 ประการ คือ ยาตัวนั้นไม่ระงับ เชื้อสเตรปโทคอกคัส มิวแทนส์ และยานั้นมีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงกว่าอย่างอื่นที่นํามาทดลอง

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะเปรียบเทียบสัมฤทธิ์ผลของการเรียนวิชาทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ของนิสิตทันตแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 2 ที่ได้รับและไม่ได้รับการเสริมด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนวิชาทันตกายวิภาคศาสตร์ นิสิตอาสาสมัครที่เข้าร่วมในโครงการนี้ เป็นนิสิตคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยชั้นปีที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2535 จํานวน 85 คน ซึ่งการศึกษาวิจัยนี้ประกอบด้วย 2 หัวข้อวิจัย งานวิจัยแรกเป็นการเปรียบเทียบคะแนนการทดสอบระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองที่ได้รับการเสริมด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนฯ กับกลุ่มควบคุมที่ไม่ได้รับการสอนเสริม ศึกษาในนิสิตที่มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยสะสมใกล้เคียงกัน จํานวน 27 คู่ ส่วนงานวิจัยที่ 2 เป็นการประเมินความก้าวหน้าและความเข้าใจในบทเรียนของนิสิตก่อนและหลังการเสริมด้วยบทเรียนคอมพิวเตอร์ ช่วยสอนฯ โดยมีนิสิตเข้าร่วมโครงการ 51 คน ภายหลังจากรวบรวมคะแนนสอบมาหาค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และนํามาทดสอบความแตกต่างของค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิตโดยใช้การทดสอบค่าเฉลี่ยพบว่า งานวิจัยที่ 1 คะแนนของกลุ่มทดลองสูงกว่าคะแนนของกลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติที่ .001 และงานวิจัย ที่ 2 พบว่าคะแนนภายหลังได้รับการเสริมด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอนฯ สูงกว่าก่อนได้รับการเสริมอย่างมีนัยสําคัญ ทางสถิติที่ .001

ฟันปลอมไร้เพดานเป็นชนิดหนึ่งของฟันปลอมทั้งปากบนที่ทําการดัดแปลงโดยตัดส่วนเพดานของฐาน ฟันปลอมออก ฟันปลอมชนิดนี้จะพิจารณาสร้างให้แก่ผู้ป่วยที่ไม่สามารถใส่ฟันปลอมทั้งปากแบบปกติได้ โดยเฉพาะในรายที่มีปุ่มกระดูกกลางเพดานขนาดใหญ่ และไม่สามารถทําการผ่าตัด บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบาย ถึงวิธีการสร้างฟันปลอมไร้เพดานสําหรับผู้ป่วยที่มีปุ่มกระดูกกลางเพดาน

อินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาเป็นตําแหน่งทางกายวิภาคศาสตร์ที่มีความสําคัญเป็นที่ยอมรับในการกําหนดตําแหน่งของฟันคู่หน้า จึงเป็นสิ่งที่น่าศึกษาเพื่อหาข้อมูลที่ถูกต้องชัดเจน เพื่อใช้เป็นการกําหนดตําแหน่งฟันหน้าของคนไทยในการทําฟันปลอม จากการศึกษาแบบหล่อสภาพช่องปากจํานวน 510 แบบ พบว่าอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลา มีรูปร่าง 7 แบบคือ แพร์ หยดน้ำ รูปไข่ สี่เหลี่ยม สามเหลี่ยม กลม และรูปร่างไม่แน่นอน รูปแพร์ มีมากที่สุดถึง 32.75% จากการศึกษาแบบหล่อที่คัดแล้วจํานวน 360 แบบ ระยะจากจุดท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาถึงปลายฟันคู่หน้ามีค่าเฉลี่ย 11.093 มม. และกําหนดใช้ระยะของจุดนี้ได้ตั้งแต่ 10.932 มม. ถึง 11.254 มม. ด้วยระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95% ระยะจากจุดสุดท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาถึงจุดที่ยื่นที่สุดด้าน เลเบียลของฟันคู่หน้ามีค่าเฉลี่ย 12.114 มม. และกําหนดใช้ได้ตั้งแต่ 11.959 มม. ถึง 12.269 มม. ที่ระดับความ เชื่อมั่น 95% ระยะจุดสุดท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลาถึงแนวฟันเขี้ยวตัดกับเส้นกลางเพดานมีค่าเฉลี่ย 2.055 มม. ระยะจากเขี้ยวขวาถึงเขี้ยวซ้ายมีค่าเฉลี่ย 35.457 มม. โดยมีค่ากําหนดตั้งแต่ 35.246 มม. ถึง 35.667 มม. ภายใต้ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95% ความสูงจากปลายฟันคู่หน้าถึงด้านท้ายของอินไซซีฟแพบพิลลามีค่าเฉลี่ย 7.088 มม. และกําหนดค่าได้ตั้งแต่ 6.943 มม. ถึง 7.233 มม. ค่าที่ได้เหล่านี้สามารถหาความสัมพันธ์เป็นสมการได้เมื่อนําไปหาระยะต่าง ๆ ซึ่งจะเป็นเครื่องช่วยกําหนดแนวและความสูงของแท่งขี้ผึ้งที่ใช้เป็นแนวในการเรียงฟันหน้า

ผู้ป่วยชายมีสุขภาพจิตผิดปกติ ได้ใช้กระดาษทรายขัดถูฟันถาวรที่เหลืออยู่ในช่องปากทั้งบนและล่าง จนสึกมากทุก ๆ ซี่ ผู้ป่วยเสียวฟันแม้ขณะอยู่เฉย ๆ และจะเสียวมากขึ้นเมื่อดื่มน้ำและบดเคี้ยวอาหาร ได้พิจารณาเลือกฟันปลอมที่เหมาะสมให้ผู้ป่วยอย่างมีขั้นตอน ผู้ป่วยพอใจกับฟันปลอมภายหลังใส่ฟันปลอมแล้วสุขภาพจิตของผู้ป่วยดีขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว

รายงานผู้ป่วยจํานวน 4 รายในการถอนฟันคุดกรามล่างซี่ที่ 3 ชนิดฟันโผล่พ้นเหงือกบางส่วน โดยวางแผนการตัดฟัน พร้อมกับใช้หัวกรอฟันความเร็วสูงร่วมกับหัวกรอฟันความเร็วธรรมดา พบว่านอกจาก จะทํางานได้รวดเร็วอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพแล้ว ยังลดความกลัวของผู้ป่วยลงอย่างมากด้วย

The purpose of this study was to determine what role the following factors have in influencing dental hygienists to remain in a private practice employment setting for five or more years: (1) working conditions, (2) the employer and the organizational structure of the employment setting, (3) scope of practice, and (4) personal factors. A random sample of 1200 licensed dental hygienists in 12 states was surveyed (100/state). Only dental hygienists working in one private practice setting for a minimum of five years completed the questionnaire; nonpracticing dental hygienists returned the questionnaire unanswered. Calibration Of Clinical Instruction In A Dental Hygiene Program, Barbara L. Bennett

Masters Theses

Continuous quality improvement training was used to improve intrarater and interrater reliability in subgingival calculus detection among the faculty of Parkland College Dental Hygiene program. Clinical trials compared the experimental group to the control group in detection of subgingival calculus on dental mannequins and patients before and after training using group standards, consensus, and feedback. Intrarater reliability was improved to a significant level and interrater reliability improved although not at a statistically significant level. Surveys distributed at the onset and end of the training examined faculty attitudes about clinical evaluation, consistency, and instruction.

The cell binding site of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) is believed to be the CD4 molecule. Several CD4+ cell lines are, however, resistant to infection by SIV(mac)251 in vitro and additional cell membrane molecules have been implicated in SIV(mac)251 entry. We investigated the binding, envelope fusion and entry of the viral core proteins (p27) of SIV(mac)251 into two human CD4+ cell lines (H9 and Sup-T1) which are infectible, and one CD4+ (A3.01) and two CD4- cell lines (K562 and Raji) that are resistant to infection. Immunodeficiency viruses undergo fusion with liposomes containing anionic phospholipids (Larsen et al., 1990). We have investigated the effect of liposomes composed of cardiolipin, phosphatidylserine or phosphatidylinositol, on the infectivity of three strains of HIV-1 in A3.01 and H9 cells, measured by p24 (gag) production in the medium. The infectivity of HIV-1 in A3.01 or H9 cells was inhibited by the presence of cardiolipin liposomes during a 2 h infection period, with IC50's of 23.0, 4.8, and 5.0 μM phospholipid, respectively, for the different strains. Liposomes composed of phosphatidylserine or phosphatidylinositol were ineffective under similar conditions. However, prolonged pre-incubation of the …
