An Analysis Of Adhesion Promoters On Shear Bond Strength Of Orthodontic Brackets To Teeth, Loren Andrew Cadelinia
An Analysis Of Adhesion Promoters On Shear Bond Strength Of Orthodontic Brackets To Teeth, Loren Andrew Cadelinia
UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones
Purpose:The aim of this study was to evaluate the shear bond strength of two adhesion promoters, EnhancetmLC and AssureRUniversal Bonding Resin, and their effects with two different adhesion systems (Light Bondtmand TransbondtmXT). To better understand their behavior upon failure, the amount of adhesive remnant remaining on the tooth surface was also observed.
Methods:One-hundred forty human premolars, which were extracted for reasons other than this study, were utilized and divided into seven groups of 20 teeth each. Groups A1 and B1 were bonded without adhesion promoters and with two different adhesive systems - Light Bondtmand TransbondtmXT. Groups A2 and B2 were …
Bracket Bond Strength Effects Of Incorporation Of Novamin Into An Orthodontic Bonding Resin, Jeffrey Waterhouse
Bracket Bond Strength Effects Of Incorporation Of Novamin Into An Orthodontic Bonding Resin, Jeffrey Waterhouse
Master's Theses (2009 -)
Despite advances in caries research and the development of protective mechanisms and materials, orthodontic white spot decalcification remains a significant problem. Increased plaque buildup around orthodontic appliances, combined with inadequate hygiene and a susceptible patient, can lead to unesthetic demineralized lesions in enamel.
Relatively new to the arena of caries prevention, NovaMin, a bioactive glass, has shown some promise in areas of remineralization of early lesions, protection against acidic challenge, and has demonstrated antiplaque properties. This study explored a new application of the material, incorporation into an orthodontic bonding composite resin. Objectives of the study were: to determine if the …
The Use Of Titanium In Dentistry, Toru Okabe, Hakon Hero
The Use Of Titanium In Dentistry, Toru Okabe, Hakon Hero
Cells and Materials
The aerospace, energy, and chemical industries have benefitted from favorable applications of titanium and titanium alloys since the 1950's. Only about 15 years ago, researchers began investigating titanium as a material with the potential for various uses in the dental field, mainly because of its proven biocompatibility and other attractive properties. The present review examines updated information on the use of titanium in a major area of dentistry. Titanium-based alloys used for casting, casting equipment and procedures, casting investment materials, and porcelain veneering are discussed. Information about advances made in techniques other than casting, which could widen the applications of …
