Bulletin No. 106 - A Study Of The Production And Movement Of Nitric Nitrogen In An Irrigated Soil, Robert Stewart, J. E. Greaves Dec 1909

Bulletin No. 106 - A Study Of The Production And Movement Of Nitric Nitrogen In An Irrigated Soil, Robert Stewart, J. E. Greaves

UAES Bulletins

The problem of maintaining the nitrogen content in our agricultural soils is one of vital importance to the development of a permanent system of agriculture. Any investigation, therefore, which tends to throw any light on the conditions which are necessary for maintaining the maximum supply of nitrogen in our soils needs no apology for its institution.

Bulletin No. 107 - Improvement Of Utah Horses, John T. Caine Iii, H. J. Frederick Dec 1909

Bulletin No. 107 - Improvement Of Utah Horses, John T. Caine Iii, H. J. Frederick

UAES Bulletins

Horse breeding in Utah, with some exceptions, has been carried on in a hap-hazard manner, and unsound horses of doubtful breeding have been purchased at high prices and have proven of little value. Where good blood has been introduced the temporary improvement has been marked, but as this work has not been followed up with care, results have not been lasting.

In spite of bad breeding, however, the standard of Utah horses has been advancing so that in western markets they command high pries. The climate, soil, feed and general conditions throughout the state make it an ideal place for …

Bouwstoffen Voor De Hymenopteren-Fauna Van Belgie, Joseph Bequaert

Ba

Bulletin No. 105 - Factors Influencing Evaporation And Transpiration, John A. Widtsoe Aug 1909

Bulletin No. 105 - Factors Influencing Evaporation And Transpiration, John A. Widtsoe

UAES Bulletins

The irrigation investigations conducted by the Utah Experiment Station, some of the results of which form this *report, were undertaken for the purpose of adding to our knowledge of the natural laws upon which the art of irrigation may be safely built. The work has had for its dirrect object the study of the mutual relations of plants, soils and water, as these relations may indicate the most economic use of water for plant production. In pursuit of the investigations it became necessary not only to follow the movement of water in soils under irrigation conditions, but to determine also …

Studies In Oxybelidae I, Carl F. Baker Jun 1909

Studies In Oxybelidae I, Carl F. Baker

An

Having been engaged for many years in the collection and study of material in this family, such results as have been obtained will now be published from time to time. A provisional table of the genera is presented herewith. Dr. Brauns has kindly sent a specimen of his South African Oxybelomorpha. It is evidently closely related to Oxybelus, but possesses mandibles deeply emarginate below. The sub-median cell is much shorter than the median, the transverse median nervure uniting with the median much before the origin of the larval nervure; but this condition occurs also among some of our American Oxybelus. …

Die Nestanlage Von Xylocopa Frontalis Oliv., A. W. Bertoni, C. Schrottky

Ba
