Short Term Secondary Production And Population Dynamics Of Crustacea And Rotifera In Three Different Biotopes Of Neusiedler See (Austria), Nuray Emi̇r Akbulut

Turkish Journal of Zoology

This paper describes the population dynamic parameters of the two cructaceans Diaphanosoma mongolianum, Arctodiaptomus spinosus and four rotifer species which are Filinia longiseta, Hexartra mira, Brachionus angularis and Polyartha vulgaris.

A Faunistic Study On The Freshwater Cladocera (Crustacea) Species In Turkish Thrace (Edirne, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli), Hüseyi̇n Güher

Turkish Journal of Zoology

A total of 47 different localities including lakes, ponds, streams, rivers and other bodies of water were surveyed between 1996 and 1998 in order to determine the Cladocerean (Crustacea) fauna of the Turkish Thrace region. Thirty-nine species of Cladocera were collected, out of which, 10 are new of the Thrace region of Turkey. The distribution of the species are given according to their localities and province.

Community Structure Of Zooplanktonic Organisms In Lake Akşehir, Nuray Emi̇r Akbulut

Turkish Journal of Zoology

In this study, the abundance and seasonal distribution of rotifer and crustacean zooplankton were examined. A negative correlation beetween rotifers and crustaceans in terms of their abundancy rates was observed. Copepods were most abundant and comprised 43.3 %; rotifers comprised 34 % and cladocerans comprised 22.6% of the total zooplanktonic organisms. Copepods were abundant in autumn whereas rotifers were abundant in spring and autumn but cladocerans were abundant in summer periods. Some zooplanktonic organisms recorded in all samples throughout the study period were Filinia, Hexarthra, Brachionus, Asplanchna, Keratella, Arctodiaptomus spinosus and Diaphanosoma lacustris.
