A Bibliography Of Taxonomic Literature Of The Great Plains Flora, With Supplements I, Ii, And Iii, Ralph E. Brooks
A Bibliography Of Taxonomic Literature Of The Great Plains Flora, With Supplements I, Ii, And Iii, Ralph E. Brooks
School of Biological Sciences: Faculty Publications
There is at present no recent comprehensive manual of the Great Plains flora. Consequently, students of the flora must utilize monographs, revisions, and other sources in their work. This bibliography was compiled in order to facilitate location of available literature, and will be useful to anyone interested in the systematics of the plants of the Great Plains. This compilation was produced for the Great Plains Flora Association as an initial step in the preparation of a major flora for the region.

Observations On Thamnidiaceae (Mucorales). Ii. Chaetocladium, Cokeromyces, Mycotypha, And Phascolomyces., Gerald L. Benny, R. K. Benjamin
Aliso: A Journal of Systematic and Floristic Botany
Four previously established genera of Thamnidiaceae and their recognized species are described and illustrated. Seven species are treated as follows: Chaetocladium jonesii, C. brefeldii, Cokeromyces recurvatus, Mycotypha africana, M. microspora, M. poitrasii (a new combination based on Cokeromyces poitrasii), and Phascolomyces articuloms. Phascolomyces articuloms, the type species of Phascolomyces, was described in 1959 without the preservation of a nomenclatural type as required by the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, and original material is unknown. A neotype specimen is designated (preserved in RSA) for validation of the genus and species.
New Species Of Stylidium, And Notes On Stylidiaceae From Southwestern Australia, Sherwin Carlquist
New Species Of Stylidium, And Notes On Stylidiaceae From Southwestern Australia, Sherwin Carlquist
Aliso: A Journal of Systematic and Floristic Botany
Three new species of Stylidium from southwestern Australia are described. Stylidium noriscandens is most closely related to S. scanclens, of which it may be regarded as a northern sandplain vicariant with sufficient morphological difference for specific recognition, just as S. veiticillatum is a montane vicariant of S. scandens. Stylidium expeditionis is a new species known only from the Tutanning Reserve near Pingelly; it is in the section Squamosae, and several species can be cited as bearing relationship to it. Stylidium ricae is the name given to a plant of granitic outcrops near Morawa and Mullewa; it was formerly …

A Taxonomic And Ecologic Study Of The Riverbottom Forest On St. Mary River, Lee Creek, And Belly River In Southwestern Alberta, Canada, Robert K. Shaw
Great Basin Naturalist
The riverbottom forest community of St. Mary River, Lee Creek, and Belly River in southwestern Alberta, Canada, is a unique ecological entity characterized by poplar species having their major Alberta distribution along these streams. Stands in the community are dominated by three tree species, six shrub species, and nine herb species. Establishment of the community is dependent on climate and substrate; destruction is the result of progressive lateral stream-flow erosion. Soils are sandy loams above gravel, with pH values of 7.7 to 8.0 and soluble salt concentrations of 176 to 458 parts per million. Trees in mature stands averaged 23.0 …
