Apple Leaf Disease Detection And Classification Based On Transfer Learning, Cevher Özden Jan 2021

Apple Leaf Disease Detection And Classification Based On Transfer Learning, Cevher Özden

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The world population and the number of people affected by hunger constantly increases. Precision farming offers new solutions to a modern and more fertile production in agriculture. Early and in-place disease detection is one of the fields that recent studies have focused on. The present paper introduces a new approach to transfer learning in that training, validating and testing of the model have been made on images from different sources to see its effectiveness. Several optimization methods including the adaptation of a recent custom PowerSign optimization algorithm are compared in the study. Accordingly, the model with Adagrad optimizer produced more …

Analysis Of Designs Used In Monitoring Crop Growth Based On Remote Sensing Methods, Cristina Teodora Dobrota, Rahela Carpa, Anca Butiuc-Keul Jan 2021

Analysis Of Designs Used In Monitoring Crop Growth Based On Remote Sensing Methods, Cristina Teodora Dobrota, Rahela Carpa, Anca Butiuc-Keul

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Choosing appropriate designs and methods for monitoring crop growth is a challenging process of major importance. Remote sensing from space and manned or unmanned airborne operations are used to measure crop reflectance and a wide variety of other agricultural parameters. While some experiments use only a few, specific methods and designs and organize the results in lists of evidence, other experiments use a wider range of techniques to create a more credible and comprehensive assessment of crop yield. Particular situations related to the available resources in terms of data collection and expertise in addition to the intended use of the …

The Development Of A Low Cost Uav-Based Image Acquisition System And The Procedure For Capturing Data In Precision Agriculture, Ari̇f Behi̇ç Teki̇n, Marco Fornale Jan 2019

The Development Of A Low Cost Uav-Based Image Acquisition System And The Procedure For Capturing Data In Precision Agriculture, Ari̇f Behi̇ç Teki̇n, Marco Fornale

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Remote sensing is a method of monitoring the natural heterogeneity of vegetation. Although satellite based remote sensing has been a popular method for monitoring the earth's surface, it has several drawbacks, such as the orbital period, unattended capture, and investment cost. On the other hand, an unmanned air vehicle (UAV) is more flexible in terms of deployment, monitoring a small area, and being easy to obtain at a low cost. From this point of view, the goal of this research was to develop a low cost and easy to implement technical solution for mapping spatial heterogeneity and research its relationship …

Evaluation Of A Low-Cost Gps Receiver For Precision Agriculture Use In Adana Province Of Turkey, Muharrem Keski̇n, Sai̇t Muharrem Say, Serap Görücü Keski̇n Jan 2009

Evaluation Of A Low-Cost Gps Receiver For Precision Agriculture Use In Adana Province Of Turkey, Muharrem Keski̇n, Sai̇t Muharrem Say, Serap Görücü Keski̇n

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The most vital factor in the application of precision agriculture technology is the cost of the required high-technology equipment. The equipment cost is the major obstacle in adopting the precision agriculture. GPS receiver is one of the most essential tools with high initial costs in this technology. The aim of this study was to evaluate a low-cost GPS receiver in 3 different tests including static, dynamic circular area, and dynamic straight line tests. It was observed that the tested low-cost GPS receiver yielded a deviation of less than 1.50 m, 1.60 m, and 1.48 m in static, circular area, and …
