The foster care field continues to have a high turnover rate of the professionals working in the field. While support and work balance are available for some professionals, many face the challenges of heavy workloads, unrealistic expectations, and health sacrifices that lead to many professionals leaving the field. This case study of one former foster care professional’s description of reasons they worked in the field, and reasons they ultimately left the field provides insight of the challenges and support as a foster care professional. Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind: Analyzing Inhumane Practices In Mississippi’S Correctional Institutions Due To Overcrowding, Understaffing, And Diminished Funding, Ariel A. Williams

The purpose of this research is to examine the political, social, and economic factors which have led to inhumane conditions in Mississippi’s correctional facilities. Several methods were employed, including a comparison of the historical and current methods of funding, staffing, and rehabilitating prisoners based on literature reviews. State-sponsored reports from various departments and the legislature were analyzed to provide insight into budgetary restrictions and political will to allocate funds. Statistical surveys and data were reviewed to determine how overcrowding and understaffing negatively affect administrative capacity and prisoners’ mental and physical well-being. In 2015, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) conducted a survey to assess corruption in Saudi Arabia. From this survey, two main findings deserve to be highlighted. First, the survey reveals that the practice of wasta was the most prevalent corrupt practice in Saudi society, constituting about 62 percent of such practices. This finding shows that it is essential to examine such a practice not only as a legal issue, but also as a social issue. Directors hold a significant position of influence over the assets and affairs of the company. This position gives rise to the potential for the misuse of the company's assets for the directors' own gain. In an era of marked growth of the significance of companies, there has been an increasing awareness of the need for protection of the company against abuse by directors.In recognition of the position of influence held by directors, equity has regarded directors as fiduciaries. Fiduciary duties to the company have been imposed on directors, specifically constraining self-dealing by directors.
